Casual

(Informal): Written or spoken language that is mainly used between

people who know each other well, relaxed tone, and often can include current
popular or slang terms.


Formal: Written or spoken language designed for use in situations in which
natural language doesn’t make sense; often used with people who are not in
your peer group or you do not know as well.


Academic: Language used for writing papers or reports for school or business.
In spoken language, this is usually used for speeches or presentations.
