Camp locations-
Auschwitz:
● The camp was located in Birkenau, Poland. Near the southern end
● The camp was built by Nazis Germany, after the invasion of Poland in 1936.
● The camps were divided into different work sections.

Treblinka:
● built in 1942 by Nazis Germany, and was known as a death camp
● Was one of the biggest concentration camps, was located just Northeast of Warsaw
● Arriving here, the Jews were separated into different lines based on gender, men and women.

Belzec:
● Built in 1940, was known as the first death camp built
● Was found in the southeast of Varsovia
The camps that Elie went through By

● The first camp that Elie went through was a camp called Auschwitz Birkenau,
there he was separated from his family except for his dad
● They then moved to the camp called Buna
● He and his father then had to march to a camp located in Gleiwitz
● After Gleiwitz he went Buchenwald where his father passes away
● He was then liberated when the American troops came who captured the
camp

Every single one of these shoes was worn
by a person with a family, friends, hopes,
dreams, and emotions.

These were shoes worn by people that Top is a pile of
