Proposal of Exhaust & Make-Up Air for Pantries in Guest Villa connected to
KEF - 01.

As per the kitchen appliance details received by mail by UCC Dated 21/11/2018, indicating changes in
Burner model and addition of pantry in Family Villa Second Floor, following is the proposal and
calculation indicating the changes in the current available services on site.

A) Second Floor – Pantry (Terrace Pantry):

The Burner used is BOSCH GAS HOB Model No: PRB326B70E

Gas Connection Heat rating = 4700 w = 4.7 Kw

As per the ventilation standards 1 CFM for 100 Btu or 0.03 Kw

Therefore total Exhaust requirements for 4.7 / 0.03 = 157 CFM ~ 74 LPS.

Available Mechanical Services:

1. Kitchen Exhaust = 65 LPS through KEF – 01 @ duct size = 150 x 150 mm

2. Kitchen Make-up Air Supply = 65 LPS through Transfer Duct from the surrounding area.

Required Make-up Fresh Air = 74 LPS

Available Make-up Fresh Air from ERU – 01, through Transfer Duct = 65 LPS

Required Additional Make-up air = 74 – 65 = 9 LPS

Proposal:
This Additional make-up air (9 LPS) is attain by Transfer Ducts from surrounding area.

Kitchen Exhaust air is increased from 65 to 74 LPS.

B) First Floor – Pantry (Office Pantry):

The Burner used is BOSCH INDUCTION Model No: PXX375FB1E

Electrical Connection rating = 3700 w = 3.7 Kw

Heat rating = 3.7 / 3.5 = 1.057 Kw

As per the ventilation standards 1 CFM for 100 Btu or 0.03 Kw

Therefore total Exhaust requirements for 1.057 / 0.03 = 35.2 CFM ~ 17 LPS.
 Available Mechanical Services:

1. Kitchen Exhaust = 34 LPS through KEF – 01 @ duct size = 100 x 100 mm

2. Kitchen Make-up Air Supply = 34 LPS through Transfer Duct from the surrounding area.

Required Make-up Fresh Air = 17 LPS

Surplus Make-up air = 34 – 17 = 17 LPS.

Proposal:
This Additional make-up air (17 LPS) from ERU -01 is diverted to Ground Floor.

Kitchen Exhaust air is decrease from 34 to 17 LPS.

C) Ground Floor – Pantry - 01 (Dining Pantry):

The Burner used is BOSCH GAS HOB Model No: PRB326B70E

Gas Connection Heat rating = 4700 w = 4.7 Kw

As per the ventilation standards 1 CFM for 100 Btu or 0.03 Kw

Therefore total Exhaust requirements for 4.7 / 0.03 = 157 CFM ~ 74 LPS.

1. Kitchen Exhaust = 10 LPS through KEF – 01 @ duct size = 100 x 100 mm

2. Kitchen Make-up Air Supply = 10 LPS through Transfer Duct from the surrounding area.

Available Make-up Fresh Air from ERU – 01, through Transfer Duct = 10 LPS

Required Additional Make-up air = 74 – 10 = 64 LPS

This Additional make-up air (64 LPS) is attain by Transfer Ducts from surrounding area.

Kitchen Exhaust Duct size in Guest Villa – Ground Floor – Dining Pantry is increase from 100 x 100 to
150 x 150 mm.

Ground Floor – Pantry - 02 (Majlis Pantry):

The Burner used is BOSCH GAS HOB Model No: PRB326B70E

Gas Connection Heat rating = 4700 w = 4.7 Kw

As per the ventilation standards 1 CFM for 100 Btu or 0.03 Kw

 Therefore total Exhaust requirements for 4.7 / 0.03 = 157 CFM ~ 74 LPS.

150 x 150 mm & the connected Main exhaust duct of size is increase form 100 x 100 to 200 x 150.

D) Basement Floor – Pantry (GYM Lobby):

The Burner used is BOSCH INDUCTION Model No: PXX375FB1E

Electrical Connection rating = 3700 w = 3.7 Kw

Heat rating = 3.7 / 3.5 = 1.057 Kw

As per the ventilation standards 1 CFM for 100 Btu or 0.03 Kw

Therefore total Exhaust requirements for 1.057 / 0.03 = 35.2 CFM ~ 17 LPS.

The Burner used is BOSCH INDUCTION Model No: PXX375FB1E

Electrical Connection rating = 3700 w = 3.7 Kw

Heat rating = 3.7 / 3.5 = 1.057 Kw

As per the ventilation standards 1 CFM for 100 Btu or 0.03 Kw

Therefore total Exhaust requirements for 1.057 / 0.03 = 35.2 CFM ~ 17 LPS.

Main Duct Kitchen Exhaust (K-EAD) size in Guest Villa – Basement Floor – is increase from 150 x 150 to
250 x 150 mm.

Following are the impact on existing Design:

1. Exhaust Fan KEF – 01 capacity 85 LPS is increase to 273 LPS.

2. Kitchen Exhaust Duct size in Guest Villa – Ground Floor – Dining Pantry is increase from 100 x 100
to 150 x 150 mm.
3. Kitchen Exhaust Duct size in Guest Villa – Ground Floor – Majlis Pantry is increase from 100 x 100 to
150 x 150 mm & the connected Main exhaust duct of size is increase form 100 x 100 to 200 x 150.
4. Main Duct Kitchen Exhaust (K-EAD) size in Guest Villa – Basement Floor – is increase from 150 x 150
to 250 x 150 mm.
