1. Definition of History.
For us History is a record for all the mystery of our past. It reveals us the
things that we do not understand in our culture or the past of a place or things.
History will guide the present generation to be able to gain success and do not
repeat the mistakes of the past.
History is the study of the human past as it is described in the written
documents or recorded left by human beings. Also, collected events that happened
in the past. The narration of the events which have happened among mankind,
the whole series of past events connected with a particular person or thing. It
might be good or bad

2. SOURCE ANALYSIS
A.
In early year of Ateneo De Naga they were recording every activity that they will
have in this book or more like of a diary of our school. The purpose of this record is for
the future generation to know what is happening in the university or to our president and
also to know the style of the school on how they record things and value every moment
happen to the past.

The first ever receipt issued in the Ateneo de Naga University used back when all
is manual when paying the tuition fees of Atenean.

The first document is an ORIGINAL type of document since its physical condition
reveals its age. And we also confirmed it from the archives’ attendant that is really the
original document of the activities recorded during the early years of Ateneo de Naga.

The second document is still an ORIGINAL type of document, it was also the
Original document of receipt what the ateneans may receive from the cashier.

C.
External criticism of the first document is an authentic manuscript. The form of the
paper that was used by the author was old and combination of a handwritten and
typewritten composition. The document was donated by Dr. Manuel Abella and others
donors dated as far back 1875. The internal Criticism or the context of the document is
more like a journal or a diary of our school. The purpose of this record is for the future
generation to know what is happening in the university.

The second document is also authentic because the color, the texture of the paper
and the way it was produced is dated way back. The context of the document is a proof
of a receipt that it is being an official receipt issued to a student who are paying their
tuition fees.

D. Comment
Ateneo de Naga Archives, most of the artifacts and documents doesn’t have the
necessary information, most of them doesn’t have descriptions or names, when it was
dated or how the document is being preserved. The trophies and medals are scattered
and doesn’t have a proper storage which could deteriorate the artifacts.
