Microgrid Power Solutions

Indonesia is currently experiencing a demand for sustainable and innovative energy solutions. The
government has a target to increase total power generation capacity with 35GW by 2019. This is
coupled with need to reduce greenhouse emissions and increase share of renewable energy.

A major challenge in electrification of Indonesia is the physical geography. Indonesia has over 900
permanently inhabited islands. It is difficult to connect remote islands with central power grids. This
creates a potential for localized power solutions. To complete this project, we shall be looking at:

1. Market Overview: power consumption and generation pattern, presence of domestic and
foreign firms.
2. Investment environment: currently, a foreign player can own up to 95% in power plant
business.
3. Government regulations: Indonesia has high policy uncertainty and therefore requires in
depth analysis of the same.
4. Capability of an Indian firm to be extended into Indonesia
5. Identify initial entry markets and local partner
6. Financial estimates
