INTRODUCTION
The Pioneer Heavy Duty ‘J’ Type
Casing Spears are robust and
adaptable tools that can be dressed to
recover a variety of casing sizes.
Recovery is accomplished through
tried-and-tested grapple mechanisms
that achieve a positive grip on the
casing ID prior to pulling out of the
hole.

Heavy Duty ‘J’ Type Casing Spears

use an easy-to-operate ‘J in, J out’
system that allows the grapple to be
quickly brought from the running
position into the grapple set position.
Tension can then be applied to the
string to set the grapple and the
casing can then be recovered.

Should the spear need to be backed

off from the fish at any point, lower
the string with slow right hand
rotation and bump down to release
the grapple. Continue the right hand
rotation and pick up string before
tripping out.

After use, the spear should be

disassembled and thoroughly cleaned
and oiled prior to storage. Larger
models feature integral lifting bars to
assist in this procedure.
