TENDER FOR OUTSOURCING OF CANTEEN SERVICES


AT EDI CAMPUS (2017-2018)

Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India is a state-of-the art &


internationally famed premier institution and conducts various residential
programmes at its campus throughout the year.

Sealed tenders are invited from reputed, bonafide and experienced caterers for
providing canteen services at EDI campus.

Service Provider should have atleast 5 years of experience in providing canteen


services to training/educational institutions of higher learning/repute with average
daily feeding strength of not below 200 persons.

Canteen facility to be provided to :

1. Staff
2. National participants
3. International participants
4. Post Graduate Students

We have two Kitchen/Dining facilities as under :

a) A kitchen and four dining halls. (70% revenue)

b) A New Kitchen/Dining Hall facility will be available within 2 months for


providing catering PG students. (30% revenue)

All meals to be served in UNLIMITED quantity.

Services expected from Agency : Services provider would be required to


render following services.

1. Provision of all meals (cooked) at specified time (breakfast, lunch and


dinner) as per the menu decided by the Institute/Students’ Committee.
Daily menu will be on the following lines :

a) Bed tea (7 a.m.) - Only Tea

b) Breakfast (8.30 a.m. –9.30 a.m) - 4 toasts with butter and jam
2 cutlets with sauce/chutney
(OR substitute)

- Tea / Coffee/Milk-Bournvita (or


equivalent)
c) Morning session tea (11-11.30 a.m) - Tea /Coffee/Lemon water with
biscuits (Students& participants)

- Tea (Staff)

d) Lunch (1.00 – 2.30 p.m) - Seasonal vegetable - 1


- Dal
- Curd / Raita
- Rice / Pulao
- Chapati / Puri
- Papad, Pickle, Salad

e) Evening session tea (3-3.30 p.m.) - Tea with biscuits (Students &
Participants)
- Tea (Staff)

f) Evening snacks (5.30-6.00 p.m.) - Different snacks/Tea/Coffee/


Biscuit (Participants)

g) Dinner (8.30-10.00 p.m.) - Seasonal vegetable - 1

Note :

1. For additional dish supplied during any meal over and above the
aforementioned menu, charges will be paid extra as per mutually agreed
rates.

2. Catering requirement for national & international clientele, hence the


caterer will be expected to serve and provide all Indian dishes,
Continental and Chinese dishes (Both Vegetarian & Non Vegetarian) as
and when required.

3. Provision of crockery and cutlery for dining strength of 350 persons at the
caterer’s cost.

4. Layout of tables for each meal in the dining halls to be aesthetically done.

5. During any meal time, adequate number of supervisors / waiters should


be there to serve/monitor. All waiters & supervisors will be in uniform.

6. Provision of table mats and napkins at the caterer’s cost.

7. Cleaning of utensils, canteen premises including washrooms, dining


halls, kitchen and common areas to be taken care of by the caterer.
8. Provision of food warmers with fuel at the caterer’s cost.

10 Tea to be served during working hours to staff in offices and students in tea
lounge.

11 Tea and snacks to be served to VIPs visiting the Institute.

Facilities available at the Institute : Following facilities will be available to the


service provider.

1. Cook house duly fitted with gas burners. (No fuel)


2. Storage space for raw materials.
3. Dish washing area
4. Dining halls with furniture including serving tables.
5. Electricity & water.

Special Instructions :

1. Payment terms : One month after submission of bill.

2. Service Provider will be required to serve meals in 4 dining halls each with
a strength of at least 50-60 persons, during all meals.

3. Service provider would be free to employ as many waiters, sweepers,


supervisors, utensil cleaners for efficient services.

4. No accommodation will be available for workers engaged by caterer for


canteen services.

5. Service provider would be required to comply with the rules mentioned in


Contract Labour Policy and Abolition Act, 1970, Minimum Wage Act and
PF Act 1952 or any other act applicable to labour / workers.

6. This is an Annual Rate Service Contract and the initial period of the
contract shall be for a period of one year extendable for another year
subject to satisfactory service without any change in payment terms.

7. The service provider would submit documentary evidence of :

a) Agency registration
b) Registration with Labour Commissioner
c) PF account number
d) Service tax number
e) Experience of providing catering service during last 5 years and a
list of clients with their phone number & contact person details.
f) Details of Bank Draft (EMD) and Bank details for RTGS.
g) Details of office infrastructure and staff
h) Yearly minimum turnover of Rs.1.00 crore.
8. Daily feeding strength would vary from 150-200 persons except during
vacations. However, the payment will be made as per actual feeding
strength to be recorded every day and for each meal.

9. Service provider will be responsible for settlement of all conflicts including


legal proceedings and engagement of advocates, payment of their fees,
arising between him and the workers engaged by him or any legal dispute
between EDI and workers of the service provider. Canteen workers
whose services have been protected by the Hon.Labour Court will be
retained and it shall be mandatory on the part of the Service Provider to
adhere to the orders passed by the Hon. Labour Court. However, incase
the services do not match with the standard required for international
participants, they may be offered alternative work. They can be removed
on disciplinary grounds subject to investigation by the Service provider.

10. Service provider would be required to provide hygienic, wholesome and


nutritious food.

11. Service provider will be responsible for safety of workers engaged by him.

12. a) EMD amounting to Rs.50,000/- (Refundable) must accompany the


Quotation in favour of EDI by Bank Draft /DD payable at
Ahmedabad. EMD will be adjusted as security deposit in case of
successful tenderer.

b) The successful Service Provider shall deposit a sum of Rs.1,00,000


(Rupees One Lac only) as security deposit in the form of Bank
Draft/DD from any scheduled/nationalized bank drawn in favour of
‘EDI of India’ payable at Ahmedabad and no interest shall be paid
thereon.

c) Separate electricity meter will be installed & payment for electricity


consumption will be made by the Service Provider to the Institute
every month.

13. Rates may please be submitted on Format attached as Annx. I,II, III & IV.

Tenders duly filled, signed sealed may be submitted alongwith EMD of


Rs.50,000/- to the undersigned by 28 October 2014 by 1600 hrs superscribing
on the envelope the name of the work (TENDERS FOR CANTEEN SERVICES).

Director, EDI reserves the right to reject the tender in full or part thereof without
assigning any reason whatsoever.

Canvassing in any form will result in disqualification of the Tenderer.

Special Terms :

Service Provider will collect the mess charges through cash or demand draft or bank
transfer from students directly on or before 5 th of every month. Service Provider will
issue a receipt for such payment. Institute will have no liability whatsoever. Canteen
Management System to be managed by Mess Contractor.

EDI does not guarantee any minimum quantity in terms of strength of staff, National &
International participants and PG Students.
