Visions of an Effective Educator

Technology has become a powerful and effective tool to in education. In order to effectively
assist your students, one must embrace it and become more knowledgeable on how to properly
and effectively execute the use of technology. We are paving students’ academic careers and
we must integrate it in order to help them become successful.

In order for all students to understand the content you present to them, one must consider
that they all learn in different manners. Best practice would be to present it in a visual,
kinesthetic and auditory manner. This will ensure that all types of learners are getting an
opportunity to learn the material in the manner they can best absorb it.

In order to achieve student success, one must ensure lesson plans are clear and effective. The
main elements of lesson planning include: clear objectives, pre-assessments (knowing what your
students already know to begin with on the topic), motivation, techniques, application and follow
up on the lesson.

To effectively run a smooth classroom, behavior management must be in check. Maintaining

daily routines and procedures will help establish a clear understanding of what is expected of
the students. Consistency is key when it comes to enforcing rules and consequences.

In order to assure that all students have an equal opportunity to master learning, one must be
an effective teacher. As stated above, in order to accomplish this one must, have an
established classroom management and organization plan in place, implement instruction that
engages students and has lesson plans that are learner centered, and monitor student progress
by implementing formal/informal assessments as well as checking for understanding after each
lesson.

In order to model professionalism as an instructional leader one must practice two-way

communication with parents and administrators. One must also perform assigned duties in a
timely and professional manner as well as maintaining a positive attitude during difficult
situations that might arise. Collaboration with departmental staff, parents and administrators
is key in order to demonstrate your professionalism.
