origen of the chocolate is Mesoamerican.

The Word Chocolate comes from de nahuatl XOCOLATL, a mixing of cacao seed oil, water and chili
creating a strong and bitter flavor, at the beginning was called a god drink because it gave exotics
powers and stimulating effects.
It is believed that the Olmec, around 1500 BC, were the first to ferment, roast, and grind cocoa beans
to prepare beverages
In the natural state the cocoa seeds have a bitter and astringent taste, no like we know today as
chocolate. One theory suggests that while someone was eating the fruit of the cacao tree, he threw the
seeds into the fire. The rich smell that the seeds gave when toasting, gave the idea to use that process.
The cacao like a coin

because, according to legends, cacao was a gift from the god Quetzalcoatl to men and for the Mayans
it was the god Kukulkán who gave it to them in your hands.
That is why the Mayas and the Mexicas gave great value to cocoa and when Hernán Cortés arrived to
Mexico was able to negotiate with the Aztecs making changes as if it were money.
