“Eat and let die! “ – Is this what our generation is aiming at? Well, the way children of today
are eating junk food and fast food, the future seems black. Not only does junk/fast food
make children slow and lazy, it also leads to high incidents of obesity and diabetes among
children. Mothers try their best to give good home cooked nutritious food to their children
but they hate it. Children prefer eating junk food like burgers, pizza rather than green
vegetables. They find canteen food tastier and at break time you see children flocking to
the canteen like a swarm of bees. Cold drinks, soft drinks and diet colas are becoming fad.
But, these calories could be burnt if children exercised at school and played games at home.
Most of the children spend time watching television and playing games on their computer.

In the hot summer months children have at least one cold drink daily. Gone are those days,
when children brought delicious, mouth-watering snacks for their school picnic and class
parties from home. These have been replaced by burgers, chips, cakes and cold drinks. On
an average 80% of the children go to a fast food joint at least once a week. If this is the
case, then parents should be aware that very soon their child will grow into an obese adult
with number of diseases.
