Deendayal Port(KANDLA PORT)

It is situated on Gulf of Kutch in Gujarat. It was constructed in 1950s as main seaport to


serve in western India, alternative to Karachi port which came under Pakistan’s control after
partition.

The name was changed as part of yearlong centenary celebrations of Pandit Deendayal
Upadhyay, who had stood for uplift of poor and weaker sections of society.

Kandla Port is one of twelve major ports in country. It is the largest port of India in terms of
volume of cargo handled (around 100 million tons freight In March 2016, Kandla Port had
created history by becoming first Major Port in the country to cross 100 million tons freight
handling capacity.

Gandhinagar.

Gandhinagar is the capital of the state of Gujarat in Western India. Gandhinagar is


located north of Ahmedabad. Gandhinagar, Gujarat's new capital city, lies on the west
bank of the Sabarmati River

The Akshardham temple is located in Gandhinagar.

Majuli island.

Mājuli is a river island in the Brahmaputra River, Assam, India and the 1st island district of
the country.

but having lost significantly to erosion it had an area of only 352 square kilometres
(136 sq mi) in 2014. Majuli has shrunk as the river surrounding it has grown. However it is
recognised by Guinness Book of World Records as World's Largest River Island.

The Union Government is planning to safeguard fast-eroding Majuli island — world’s largest
riverine island using research carried out on floating Brahmaputra Biodiversity and Biology
Boat (B4) labs along Brahmaputra River.

Dighi port.

Agardanda is a village in Raigad district, Maharashtra, India. Agardanda is getting


prominence because of the ongoing construction of Dighi port, which is just across the
narrow creek. Dighi Port Limited (DPL) is setting up an all-weather deep-draft direct
berthing port at Dighi (Southern shore) and Agardanda (Northern Shore) of Rajpuri Creek.

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) commissioned two high-speed interceptor boats C-433 and C-
434 boats at the Dighi Port in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Sardar Sarovar Dam

The Sardar Sarovar Dam is a gravity dam on the Narmada river near Navagam, Gujarat
in India

The foundation stone of the project was laid out by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on
April 5, 1961. The project took form in 1979 as part of a development scheme to increase
irrigation and produce hydroelectricity.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated interstate multi-purpose Sardar Sarovar Dam
(Narmada dam project) at Kevadia, Gujarat to the nation on occasion of his 67th birthday.
Sardar Sarovar Dam is the highest dam ever built in India and second biggest concrete
gravity dam in world in terms of volume after Grand Coulee Dam in US.

The project was executed by Gujarat government’s Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd
(SSNL). It had faced many hurdles including inter-state disputes, land acquisition and
environmental problems and rehabilitation and resettlement of those displaced by the
project. World Bank also had refused to fund it on grounds of environmental damage

Alang- sosiya shipyards.

Alang is a census town in Bhavnagar district in the Indian state of Gujarat. In the past three
decades, its beaches have become a major worldwide centre for ship breaking

The Union Government signed $76 million loan deal with Japan International Cooperation
Agency (JICA) for starting upgradation project related to environment management plan at
Alang-Sosiya ship recycling shipyards in Gujarat.

The project will be executed by Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) and is likely to be completed
by 2022.

Mithi Virdi Nuclear Power Plant

Mithi Virdi (or Viradi) is a proposed site consisting of six reactors with a total capacity of
6,600 MW and lies north of alang ship breaking beach in Bhavnagar.
The proposed nuclear plant has faced heavy opposition from the local population. The area
around the proposed plant is known for growing some of the highest quality Kesar Mango
trees.
Nehru Zoological Park

Nehru Zoological Park (also known as Hyderabad Zoo or Zoo Park) is a zoo located near Mir
Alam Tank in Hyderabad, Telangana.

Telangana Forest Department for first time has re-introduced ‘mouse deer’ in the forests of
Nallamalla in Amrabad Tiger Reserve (ATR) bred at Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad.

Pampa river.

The Pamba River (also called Pampa river) is the third longest river in the South Indian state
of Kerala after Periyar and Bharathappuzha and the longest river in the erstwhile princely
state of Travancore.

Researchers have discovered new species of edible freshwater fish in Pampa river in
Pathanamthitta, Kerala. It has been named as Labeo filiferus (L.filiferus) and belongs to
Labeo genus.

Parali I island,

Parali I island, part of Bangaram atoll, which was 0.032 km in 1968 has been eroded to an
extent of 100%, resulting in its inundation.

It is one of biodiversity-rich uninhabited islands part of Lakshadweep has disappeared due


to coastal erosion and another four such islands in Lakshadweep sea are shrinking fast.

The researcher had conducted studies on assessment of biodiversity confining to five


uninhabited islands– Parali I, II and III, Bangaram, Thinnakara in Lakshadweep, an
archipelago of 36 islands in Lakshadweep sea.

Vijayawada.

Vijayawada is a city in the amidst of Andhra Pradesh Capital Region, on the banks of Krishna
River in Krishna district Andhra Pradesh (AP).
Amaravati is the de facto capital city of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh The planned city
is located on the southern banks of the Krishna river in Guntur district, within the Andhra
Pradesh Capital Region. The word "Amaravati" derives its name from the
historical Amaravathi Temple town, the ancient capital of the Telugu Rulers of
the Satavahana dynasty.

India’s first Hyperloop project will come up in Andhra Pradesh, connecting its city
centres.The first of its kind project in India will use a Public Private Partnership (PPP) model
with funding primarily from private investors.

In its first phase, HTT will conduct six-month feasibility study, following which it will
construct and build HTT’s first Hyperloop in India. The proposed hyperloop will cover 35 km
distance between Vijayawada and Amaravati only in five minutes.

Rajkot

Rajkot is the centre of the Saurashtra region of Gujarat.Rajkot is the fourth-largest city in
the state of Gujarat, India, after Ahmedabad, Surat and Vadodara

President Ramnath Kovind laid foundation stone for link-4 of Saurashtra Narmada Avataran
Irrigation Scheme (SAUNI) Yojana in Rajkot district, Gujarat.

SAUNI project was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his tenure as Chief
Minister of Gujarat. It aims to fill up 115 major dams in Saurashtra.by diverting overflow of
water from Sardar Sarovar Dam on Narmada River.

Mechi River.

The Mechi River is a trans-boundary river flowing through Nepal and India. It is a tributary
of the Mahananda River. It originates in the Mahabharat Range in Nepal.

There is a proposal to link the Mechi to the Kosi. Kosi–Mechi interlinking is part of River
Interlinking Project proposed to Nepal by India.

The Union Cabinet has approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India
and Nepal for starting construction of a new Bridge over Mechi River.The new bridge over
Mechi River, as part of up-gradation of the Kakarvitta (Nepal) to Panitanki Bypass (India) on
NH 327B.
Pampadum Shola National Park

It is the smallest national park in Kerala state.The park is administered by the Kerala
Department of Forests and Wildlife, Munnar Wildlife Division, together with the
nearby Mathikettan Shola National Park, Eravikulam National Park, Anamudi Shola National
Park, Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary and the Kurinjimala Sanctuary.

The park adjoins the Allinagaram Reserved Forest within the proposed Palani Hills Wildlife
Sanctuary and National Park. The Western Ghats, Anamalai Sub-Cluster, including these
parks, is under consideration by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee for selection as
a World Heritage Site.

Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary


Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary (CWS) is in the Idukki district of Kerala. It is one of twelve
wildlife sanctuaries among the protected areas of Kerala.

North Koel Reservoir

The North Koel project is being implemented at Mandal near Kutku. The dam over North
Koyel River is said to have had completed 90% of its work in 1993 when it stopped. The
reason was the amendment of the Forest (Conservation) Rules 1981 the previous year,
which tightened the conditions for getting forest clearances.

The Union Cabinet approved proposal to complete the balance works of North Koel
Reservoir Project in Bihar, stalled since 1993. It also revived revived the project to address
environmental concerns.

Sunderbans: The Sundarbans is a vast forest in the coastal region of the Bay of Bengal,
considered one of the natural wonders of the world, it was recognised in 1997 as a UNESCO
World Heritage Site.

The Sundarbans is a natural region in West Bengal and Bangladesh. It is the largest single
block of tidal halophytic mangrove forest in the world.

Remote sensing and GIS-enabled data offer definite proof for the first time that the
mangrove forest cover in the Sunderbans has been depleting alarmingly.

Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP)it is part of Pranahita Chevella lift irrigation
scheme where water from Godavari river after the confluence by the Pranahita tributary, is
lifted from Medigadda barrage near Kaleswaram temple

The Kaleshwaram project is an off-shoot of the original Pranahitha-Chevella Lift Irrigation


Scheme taken up by the government in 2007 when Andhra Pradesh was not divided. After
the formation of Telangana in 2014, government redesigned the project on the ground that
the original plan had too many environmental .

Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad also known as Karnavati, is the largest city and former capital of Gujarat, which
is a state in India. Ahmedabad has emerged as an important economic and industrial hub in
India. It is the second largest producer of cotton in India.

It gets World Heritage City tag. The 606-year-old walled city of Ahmedabad, which was
founded by Sultan Ahmed Shah, has become India’s first World Heritage City. Ahmedabad is
recognized the city as the cradle of India’s non-violent freedom struggle led by Mahatma
Gandhi.

Mahadayi

It is also known as the Mandovi river, is known as a lifeline in the northern parts of
Karnataka. The river originates and flows in Karnataka and goes through Goa before
meeting the Arabian Sea.

The Mahadayi catchment area covers around 2,032 km and includes some parts of
Maharashtra near the Maharashtra-Karnataka border region.

The Karnataka government and Goa government are fighting on sharing of waters of the
Mahadayi river (called Mandovi in Goa).

Mekedatu dispute

Mekedaatu, located about 110 km from Bengaluru. Following the green signal from the
legal experts, the state government has decided to develop a 'Balancing Reservoir' or 'Mini
KRS' (Krishna Raja Sagar reservoir near Mysuru) near Mekedaatu for supplying potable
water to Bengaluru and parts of Mysuru region

Karnataka intends to build a reservoir across river Cauvery near Mekedatu in Kanakapura
taluk. It was first proposed along with Shivanasamudra hydro power project at Shimsa in
2003 with an intention to use the water for a hydro power station and supply drinking water
to Bengaluru city.

However, Tamil Nadu objected saying Karnataka had not sought prior permission for the
project. Its argument was that the project would affect the flow of Cauvery water to Tamil
Nadu.

Rayagada

Rayagada is a municipality in Rayagada district in Odisha. Rayagada is a district of meadows,


forests, water falls and terraced valleys, peopled by many primitive tribal groups. The scenic
beauty and heritage on the land is an unexplored paradise.

The first Mega Food Park in the state of Odisha M/s MITS Mega Food Park Pvt. Ltd. Was
recently inaugurated at Rayagada.
Orang National Park

It also known as Rajiv Gandhi orang national park located on the north bank of
the Brahmaputra River in the Darrang and Sonitpur districts of Assam,

It is also known as the mini Kaziranga National Park (IUCN site) since the two parks have a
similar landscape made up of marshes, streams and grasslands.

Orang tiger reserve in Assam, which has the smallest core, is host to 28 big cats, thus having
the highest density nationally

The park has a rich flora and fauna, including great Indian one-horned rhinoceros, pigmy
hog, elephants, wild buffalo and tigers. It is the only stronghold of rhinoceros on the north
bank of the Brahmaputra river.

Carambolim Wetlands

Carambolim lake lies in Ilhas taluka Panjim, near the capital of Goa.

The inclusion of these ecological hotspots in a new book come after systematic data
collection by the Goa Bird Conservation Network (GBCN).

Now, seven areas in Goa have been termed important biodiversity areas by BirdLife. Goa
earlier had four recognised biodiversity areas: Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary and
Mollem National Park, Carambolim Wetlands, Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary and Mhadei
Wildlife Sanctuary.

The list has now added Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary, Navelim Wetlands and Netravali
Wildlife Sanctuary.

Diamer basha dam

It is in the Gilgit-Baltistan region

China has offered to make a dam (Diamer-Bhasha Dam) project on the Indus River that
India objects to, a part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The Diamer-Bhasha Dam is a project that both the World Bank and the Asian Development
Bank (ADB) have refused to touch because India objects to its location, which is in the Gilgit-
Baltistan region. India claims the region is a part of Kashmir.

Yettinahole project:
The Yettinahole project envisages to pump about 24 tmc ft of water from Yettinahole, a
tributary of River Netravathi

It involves construction of dams and reservoir, pumping of water, flowing of water with
gravitational force and finally filling of lakes.

The project envisages diverting the water to drought prone Chikkaballapur, Tumkur and
Bangalore rural districts.

Nathu La:

Nathu La is a mountain pass in the state sikkim. It connects the Indian state of Sikkim with
China’s Tibet Autonomous Region.

China has accused Indian troops of “crossing the boundary” in the Sikkim sector and put
their immediate withdrawal as condition to reopen the Nathu La Pass for Indian pilgrims
travelling to Kailash Mansarovar.

It is also one of the four officially agreed BPM (Border Personnel Meeting) points between
the Indian Army and People’s Liberation Army of China for regular consultations and
interactions between the two armies, which helps in defusing stand-offs.

The four BPM are: Chushul in Ladakh, Nathu La in Sikkim, Bum La Pass in Tawang district of
Arunachal Pradesh, and Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand.

Bhitarkanika National Park.

Bhitarkanika National Park is a national park located in Kendrapara district of Odisha in


eastern India.It is also a Ramsar Convention 19th Aug 2002.

The national park is surrounded by the Bhitarkanika Wildlife Sanctuary. Gahirmatha


Beach and Marine Sanctuary lies to the east, and separates swamp region cover with
canopy of mangroves from the Bay of Bengal.

Bhitarkanika National Park authorities have imposed restrictions on entry of tourists into the
park for three months to provide undisturbed environment for breeding by estuarine
crocodiles.

Bhitarkanika is one of the largest sanctuaries of crocodiles in the region with 1,671 reptiles

Kishanganga Hydroelectric Plant


It is located 5 km north of Bandipore in Jammu and Kashmir, India and will have an installed
capacity of 330 MW. Construction on the project began in 2007 and is expected to be
complete in 2016.

It is is an $864 million dam which is part of a run-of-the-river hydroelectric scheme that is


designed to divert water from the Kishanganga River to a power plant in the Jhelum River
basin.

Construction on the dam was temporarily halted by the Hague’s Permanent Court of
Arbitration in October 2011 due to Pakistan’s protest of its effect on the flow of the
Kishanganga River (called the Neelum River in Pakistan). In February 2013, the Hague ruled
that India could divert a minimum amount of water for power generation.

Dhola- sadiya:

It is the country’s longest bridge located in Assam. It was recently inaugurated by PM Modi.

This new, three lane, 9.15 kilometre bridge has been built over river Lohit, a tributary of the
Brahmaputra, linking Dhola to Sadiya in Assam.

The bridge will also reduce the distance from Rupai on NH- 37 in Assam to Meka/Roing on
NH-52 in Arunachal Pradesh by 165 KM. The travel time between the two places will come
down from the current six hours to just one hour – a total five hour reduction. This will
result in saving of petrol and diesel worth Rs 10 Lakh per day.

Chilika Lagoon:

It is the largest coastal lagoon in India and the second largest lagoon in the world after The
New Caledonian barrier reef in New Caledonia.

It is one of the hotspot of biodiversity in the country, and some rare, vulnerable and
endangered species listed in the IUCN Red List of threatened Animals inhabit in the lagoon
for atleast part of their life cycle.

On account of its rich bio-diversity and ecological significance, Chilika was designated as the
1st “Ramsar Site” of India.

The Nalaban Island within the lagoon is notified as a Bird Sanctuary under Wildlife
(Protection) Act, the National Wetlands, mangroves and coral reefs Committee of Ministry
of Environment & Forests, Government of India, have also identified the lagoon as a priority
site for conservation and management.

Chenani-Nashri tunnel:
The tunnel, which took seven years to build, will act as an all-weather alternative to the
existing Jammu-Srinagar highway. It will link Chenani in Udhampur district with Nashri in
Ramban district.

The two-lane Chenani-Nashri tunnel will be Asia’s longest, which will cut the distance
between Jammu and Srinagar to around 250km from the current 350km.

It is the world’s sixth road tunnel with a transverse ventilation system enabled and
controlled by ABB software. It also boasts features like Integrated Traffic Control System
(ITCS), Video Surveillance System, FM Rebroadcast System, Entrance Detection Control
System and Active Firefighting System.

Sahibganj Multi Modal Terminal will link the city and the landlocked state of Jharkhand to
foreign shores through the Bay of Bengal. The terminal at Sahibganj is an important
component of the Jal Marg Vikas Project (JMVP) for the augmentation of the navigation
capacity of National Waterway-1 (Ganga) from Varanasi to Haldia (1390 km).

The terminal will generate considerable direct and indirect employment for local people
also.

Ken and Betwa rivers link

It lies in the states of Uttar Pradesh (UP) and Madhya Pradesh (MP) are to be linked under
an historic agreement that marks the first such project in India’s ambitious and controversial
national river-linking project.

The Ken-Betwa ILR project had received clearance of the Union Cabinet Nearly 8,650
hectares of forest land including part of Panna National Park in Madhya Pradesh will be
submerged due to implementation of this project

The project will provide irrigation facilities for land in Panna, Chhattarpur, Tikamgarh
districts in Madhya Pradesh, and Banda, Mahoba and Jhansi districts in Uttar Pradesh.
Habibganj railway station lies in the suburbs of Bhopal will become country’s first railway
station to be redeveloped in a public-private partnership (PPP) mode.

The idea is to develop Habibganj railway station as a as a world-class transit hub equipped
with all amenities.

IRSDC will oversee the Habibganj project. IRSDC is formed by railway unit Ircon International
Ltd (IRCON) and Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) to undertake station
redevelopment projects.

Motihari

Motihari is the headquarters of East Champaran district of bihar. Motihari is northwest

The Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has planned to build a new oil terminal at Motihari in Bihar
to supply fuel to Nepal via the planned pipeline up to Amlekganj in Nepal.

The old terminal functioning at Raxaul in Bihar will be shut down as it does not conform to
the current OISD (Oil Industry Safety Directorate) guidelines. The decision to shift the
terminal from Raxaul to Motihari has been taken keeping in mind the current safety
guidelines.

Shamshabad

Barren island

active again.

After lying dormant for 150 years, Barren Island volcano had erupted in 1991 and since then
it is showing sporadic activity. Now it is erupting in small episodes of five to 10 minutes.

It is claimed that volcanoes is erupting the rising magma formed deep in the mantle due to
the melting of the subducted Indian Ocean crust.

The volcanic island is part of Andaman islands. Its northern part is barren and is
uninhabited. It is also devoid of vegetation.

Loktak lake

Loktak lake is the largest freshwater lake in northeast India. It is referred as the lifeline of
Manipur and plays an important role in the economy of Manipur.

The ancient lake is famous for the phumdis (also known as “phumshongs”), the
heterogeneous mass of vegetation, soil and organic matter at various stages of
decomposition floating over it.

Keibul Lamjao National Park is one of Phumdis in the lake. It is only floating national park in
world and is last natural refuge of endangered Sangai deer.

India’s first floating elementary school named Loktak Elementary Floating School was
inaugurated at Langolsabi Leikai of Champu Khangpok floating village on Loktak Lake in
Manipur.

Vaan Island

Tamil Nadu govt in collaboration with IIT Madras have been restoring Vaan Island in Gulf
of Mannar by deploying artificial reefs near vulnerable islands.

Due to indiscriminate mining of coral, destructive fishing practices and frequent fires
caused by fisherman in past decades, area of Vaan Island had been reduced from 16
hectares in 1986 to 2 hectares in 2014.

Ameenpur Lake

Lake is located at Ameenpur Village, Medak in Hyderabad

It was declared a 'Biodiversity Heritage Site' by Telangana government in Nov 2016, under
the Biological Diversity Act 2002 and the Telangana State Biological Diversity Rules 2015.

It has become the first water body in the country to be declared a Biodiversity Heritage
Site.

Umred Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary

It is situated in Maharashtra and is 60 km from nagpur.Umred-Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary


is declared as the satellite core of Bor Tiger Reserve by national tiger conservation authority

Mandal dam

The Mandal dam was envisaged in Kutku and Mandal villages of Latehar as a part of North
Koel river irrigation project in the 1970s.

The National Board of Wildlife (NBWL) is planning to give clearance to the Mandal Dam in
Latehar district after it studies the dam's potential impact on the Palamu Tiger Reserve's
(PTR) ecosystem.

The 367 metre-high dam is to irrigate a large part of neighbouring districts of Bihar.The
construction of the dam's walls was completed in the early 1990s but the installation of
sluice gates was halted amid environmental concerns.

Palamu tiger reserve

The Palamu Tiger Reserve is located in the western side of Latehar district on the
Chhotanagpur plateau in Jharkhand.The forest is surrounded by the Netarhat forest in the
South, Auranga river in the North, Latehar Forest
Division. The project area is constituted mainly of Sal forests, mixed deciduous forests and
bamboo groves.

The reserve zone is the watershed area for 3 important rivers Koel, Burha and Auranga.

Ratle Hydroelectric Plant

The Ratle Hydroelectric Plant is a run-of-the-river hydroelectric power station currently


under construction on the Chenab River, downstream of the village of Ratle in Doda district
of the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

The project includes a 133 m (436 ft) tall gravity dam and two power stations adjacent to
one another.

Pakistan has objected to ratle project.

Gharimatha Marine Sanctuary:

Gahirmatha Marine Sanctuary is a marine wildlife sanctuary located in Odisha. It extends


from Dhamra River mouth in the north to Mahanadi river mouth in the south. It is very
famous for its nesting beach for olive ridley sea turtles.

All the species of sea turtles in the coastal water of Odisha are listed as “endangered” as per
IUCN Red Data Book. The sea turtles are protected under the ‘Migratory Species
Convention’ and CITES (Convention of International Trade on Wildlife Flora and Fauna)

Shahpur Kandi dam, located in Gurdaspur district of Punjab, will help in providing irrigation
facility to 5000 hectares of land in Punjab and 32173 hectares in J&K besides generation of
206 MW power.

Tagged as a national project by the Centre, it was to be built with an estimated cost of Rs
2,285.81 crore (as per April 2008 price level) and is expected to generate 206 megawatt
electricity. The project will continue to be implemented by Punjab and its design shall be as
agreed by both states. Model studies will be carried out concurrently to ensure J&K gets its
mandated share of 1,150 cusecs of water.

Under the scheme, MoWR, RD&GR provides central assistance @ 90% of the balance cost of
works component of irrigation and water supply.

The construction of Shahpur Kandi project was taken up in May 1999 but later halted in
2014 due to dispute between Punjab and J&K.

Tezu airport

Tezu is a census town and the headquarters of Lohit district in the Indian state of Arunachal
Pradesh.

It will be the first civilian airport of Arunachal Pradesh. Tezu will smoothen transport to
several high-altitude districts near the India-China border. Tezu is the nearest town to
Walong, where a legendary battle between Indian and Chinese soldiers took place in
October 1962.

Koteshwar Hydro-Electric Project

It is (400 MW), located downstream of Tehri, is an integral part of Tehri Power Complex
comprising of Tehri Dam and Koteshwar HEP to develop Hydro-electric potential of river
Bhagirathi.

It will facilitate the functioning of Tehri Power Complex as a major peaking station in
Northern grid as reservoir created by Koteshwar Dam having a live storage capacity of 35.0
MCM will function as lower (balancing) reservoir for Tehri PSP.
The Kalimpong

It is subdivision of the Darjeeling hills has become the 21st district of West Bengal.

Kalimpong was once known for the Silk Route that passed through the region, connecting
Nepal and Bhutan with the city.

Daroji Sloth Bear Sanctuary


Daroji Sloth Bear Sanctuary is located in Ballari district in Karnataka.

The sanctuary was created exclusively for the preservation of the sloth bear.

The bears are threatened due to illegal mining in fragmented areas of the adjoining forests. The
forest department and NGOs have also rescued many domestic bears from Daroji and
surrounding areas

The third edition of Karnataka ‘Hakki habba’ (Birds Festival) would be celebrated
at Daroji Karadi dhama, near Hampi,

Kamarajar Port

Ennore Port, officially renamed Kamarajar Port Limited, is located on the Coromandel Coast
north of Chennai Port, Chennai, it is the 12th major port of India, and the first port in India which
is a public company.

Kamarajar Port Limited, designed as Asia's energy port, is the first corporatised port in India

Ennore Port was originally conceived as a satellite port to the Chennai Port

The port, which started functioning in 2001, is a schedule B Mini Ratna Company.

Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary and estuary situated in Andhra


Pradesh, India.[2][3] It is the second largest stretch of mangrove forests in India
