JEE (Main) to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical
Institutions (CFTI), Institutions funded by participating State Governments, and other Institutions. The
Paper-1 (B. E. /B. Tech.) of JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced) and students
can take JEE (Advanced) only after qualifying the Paper-1 (B. E. /B. Tech.) of JEE (Main).
This time there is a change in regulatory body for Joint Entrance Examination JEE (Main) – 2019.
Instead of CBSE this time National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct JEE (Main) – 2019. National Testing
Agency (NTA) is an independent, autonomous and self-sustained premier organization under the
Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. The Central Government has
established the National Testing Agency to conduct entrance examination for admission/ fellowship in
higher educational institutions.
This year i.e. 2019 for the first time JEE (Main)-2019 will be conducted twice. This will give students one
more opportunity to the students to improve their scores in examination if they fail to give their best in
first attempt without wasting their whole academic year.
The first attempt of JEE (Main) – 2019 will be held in January, 2019 whereas the second attempt will be
held in April, 2019. The test will be held on different shifts/dates in both the attempts.
Details about JEE (Main) – 2019 including exam pattern is available on NTA web site
https://www.nta.ac.in/ and www.jeemain.nic.in Candidates are advised to visit the web site and check

authority NTA to help aspirant candidates.
(a) Paper-1 (B.E. /B. Tech.) in “Computer Based Test (CBT)” mode only.
(b) Paper-2 (B. Arch/ B. Planning): Mathematics- Part I and Aptitude Test-Part II in “Computer
Based Test (CBT)” mode only and Drawing Test –Part III in “Pen & Paper Based” (offline) mode
to be attempted on drawing sheet.
Each question will have four options with single correct answer
Each question carries 4 marks. For each correct response the candidate will get 4 marks.
One mark will be deducted for the total score for each incorrect response.
