function.

This is an important part of my health because it is really important to be physically

health which keeps me away from any diseases so I can enjoy my life and it keeps
me fit cause of all the exercises I do. All the nutrients I eat help my body function.

The positive aspects of my physical health is that I am fit, active and I always get
enough sleep to help my organs function.

The negative aspects of my physical health is that I don’t eat a lot of vegetables and I
eat more than enough sweet stuff.

Ways I can improve my physical health are doing exercise, getting enough sleep/rest,
drink enough water/fluids, avoiding smoking, drinking and eating a healthy diet.

others.
Depression
Sue is my sister who is 8 year old student at Bombala High School. She Used to be an
outgoing, friendly, above average student. Recently her friends and I have noticed that she
has been changed. I wonder what has happened to her.

One day she came from school feeling so depressed. Mom asked her “how was your day?”
But, She didn’t reply. She went straight to her room. Mom said to me to look after her and
find out what has happen to her. After a while I went to her room to see what she is doing. I
tried to speak to her but she ignored me. Instead, she said “go away! Leave me alone”. I did
so. I was so worried a about her behaviour so, the next day I went to her school to ask some
of her friends about she behaved with others and his she is doing. I waited till her school
finish. When the bell rang I saw her friends and asked them about sue. One of them said
“she is not getting along with people. She doesn’t even play with us as usual and she doesn’t
concentrate well in class. We were so shocked after seeing her changing.”
That sounded too much to me.

I sat on the park and thought about how it was affecting her everyday life. She was not even
talking to anyone and sharing her feelings which had a negative impact on her relationships.
She was so depressed which had a negative impact on her brain, as well as her overall
physical health. If she is depressed for a long time it impacts her heart as well. “I must help
her. I won’t make her ruin her own life.” I commanded to myself. I went home and I
proceeded straight to her room. I asked “ how did your day go”. She still ignored me. “It’s
better if you share your feelings with others.” I said wisely. This time she listened and
started crying. I asked “why are acting so different for last few days? Is everything all right?”
“My best friend has moved school. I have no one to talk to.” She said in her crying voice.
“I am here, you can talk to me.” I replied. Our conversation went on.

She explained the situation to me so I tried to help her to get out of the situation by saying
that she needs to share her feelings with others, she needs to face that challenge and
overcome it. Her best friend had moved school doesn’t mean that she can’t contact her or
make another relationship. She can move on. After I told her these things I still felt like she
didn’t get me. So, I told mum about the things going on her life for last few days. Mom
decided to see a physiologists which could definitely help her. The next morning we went to
the physiologist. They did some therapies. One of them was a Cognitive Behaviour
Therapy( CBT) which helped sue to change her thoughts and behaviour by teaching her how
to think logically about common difficulties, helping her to think positively. The another
therapy was Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) which helped her with recognising patterns of
relationship so she could improve her relationships, coping with grief and finding new ways
to get along with others.

By the end of one week she was all back to normal and really excited to look forward to
make new relationships and cope with loss.
