STABILITY TEST OF BUS-COUPLER CTs

To perform the test following activities are required.

1. Made down an existing feeder if spare feeder is not available.

2. Open all Bus and Line isolators of the down feeder and the Bus-Coupler feeder and lock them.

3. Made one duplicate bus by using control wire and connect it as shown in figure.

4. Defeat Bus-Zone and check Zone protection before starting test.

To test stability of Bus-A2 connect the duplicate bus (red colour) near P1 of Bus-coupler (B/C # 2) and near P1 of
the existing down feeder (ST#3). Inject current between P2 of Bus-coupler(B/C#2) and P2 of existing down
feeder(ST#3) as shown in fig. Measure the current difference between secondary of Bus-coupler (B/C # 2) and
existing down feeder(ST#3).It must be Zero if connections are correct and CTs are identical.

1. Stability of BC#2 with ST#3 in Bus A2.

The above two steps will be repeated for all the three phases.
To test stability of Bus-B2 connect the duplicate bus (red colour) near P2 of Bus-coupler (B/C # 2) and near P1 of
the existing down feeder (ST#3). Inject current between P1 of Bus-coupler (B/C#2) and P2 of existing down
feeder(ST#3) as shown in fig. Measure the current addition between secondary of Bus-coupler (B/C # 2) and
existing down feeder (ST#3).It must be Zero if connections are correct and CTs are identical.

2. Stability of BC#2 with ST#3 in Bus B2.

The above two steps will be repeated for all the three phases.
