People Should Stop Littering on Lovina Beach

"Bali has many beautiful and clean beaches" that common saying may contain some truth,
but actually beaches in Bali have a level of cleanliness and it’s getting worrisome, one of them is
Lovina. Around this beach there are many slogans about the environment and cleanliness. There
has also been provided a lot of trash can with interesting colors and different sizes everywhere.
But apparently, this is not enough to stop Lovina visitors to not litter and make Lovina looks
dirty. Many of them still do not care about the impacts that will be caused because of littering

In the first place, littering has an effect on environment. Ever seen a documentary about sea
animals eating plastic? Well that stuff does not happen only in the movie, but in the reality too.
Because we throw garbage carelessly on Lovina Beach, there will be many animals that eat
plastic, and cause unbalanced ecosystem. In addition, the litter that we throw away will also
make pollution, on soil, air and water. Lovina Beach will look dirtier because of that.

In the second place, littering has an effect on people health. Garbage that we throw will be
bad for the respiratory health of people around the beach, or even visitors who visit there.
Garbage that accumulates will cause tuberculosis disease that is known attacked the lungs. This
disease can be transmitted easily through the air. Just imagine our dirty air due to the unpleasant
odor from the garbage can also cause the spread of the disease. In addition to breathing, littering
is also bad for our digestion. Rubbish that accumulates will invite flies and mosquitoes. Flies that
land on garbage can also land on our food and cause our food to become contaminated. It can
cause typhoid and dysentery.

Lastly, littering has an effect in economy. If Lovina looks dirty every time garbage there
multiplies, will be fewer visitors who visit there. People will feel disgusted and do not like
Lovina as they used to, and it causes the economic downturn in Lovina. The economic downturn
in Lovina will cause coastal traders lose their income, and poverty arises because there is no
income earned and no jobs.

Lovina is one of the beaches with beautiful scenery and interesting existence. Do not let
Lovina become dirty due to us who likes to throw garbage carelessly around the beach. We must
stop littering to keep the beach clean and protected.

The beach known for its dolphin tourism is filled with rubbish. Many types of garbage are found
on the beach. Ranging from used plastic food waste to sanitary napkins. In 2016, the garbage on
the beach in Lovina has increased quite high. According to data on the percentage increase in
waste from the Stastik Central Agency of Bali Province stated that the amount of plastic waste
from 2011-2016 has increased by around 2%.
