OVERVIEW

Perhimpunan Pelajar Indonesia di Australia (PPIA) or Indonesian Students Association

(ISA) New South Wales is a student organisation operating under the Consulate General
of the Republic of Indonesia in Sydney. We unite Indonesian students who are studying
in various universities throughout New South Wales. With more than 2000 members
state wide, we are the officially recognised representatives of Indonesian Student
Associations at 7 major universities across New South Wales.

We strive to unite Indonesian students currently studying in multiple universities

spread out across the state of New South Wales, with the purpose of strengthening
our relations with others, building stronger and greater community and encouraging
our peers to become noble global citizens. PPIA continues to hold various events
throughout the year with a mission to promote Indonesian culture to both Indonesian
and the Australian community whether it is through our educational seminary events
or our social events, with the purpose to enrich our members.

Our membership is not limited to Indonesian students, in fact; we stretch our wings
to improve and maintain good relationships with people from different culture and
background, hence, boasting a multicultural demographic within our society. We have
PPIA branches in almost every major university in New South Wales. Our branches
include University of New South Wales (UNSW), University of Technology Sydney
(UTS), University of Sydney, Macquarie University, Newcastle University, University of
Western Sydney and University of Wollongong. Students who are studying at colleges
or universities where our branch is not available can simply sign up to any branch
closest to their college or any of their preference.

Beyond creating bonds, ISA NSW strives to nurture and sow seeds of excellence
in our individuals, with hopes that the events we cater will increase insight and
creativity. ‘Panggung Pahlawan’ - NSW Night 2.0, offers not only for the sole purpose
of entertainment, but to introduce Indonesian culture to the Australian community, and
encourage our young Indonesian students to show their creativity. The performance
also serves as a mediator to connect young Indonesians to create, the stage also
delivers a strong message of ‘Do not judge a book by its cover’.

OBJECTIVE

ISA NSW’s events are held for the benefit of our members in hope that
it will enrich, encourage and sow seeds of excellence. The performance
will also deliver a strong message of ‘Do not judge a book by its cover’
through heartwarming performances by our team members.

‘Panggung Pahlawan’ serves not only for the sole purpose of entertainment
but also in other areas such as stimulating creative interests and
conversations around Indonesian culture. By creating ties through the love
of the culture and art, we can generate more awareness and strengthen
the bond of Australian-Indonesian community.

‘Panggung Pahlawan’ is also an opulent incubator for creative Indonesians

to come together as a community and express their talent and individuality
to a greater community. Amidst the busy life of university students, this
project serves as an escape from the routine of a university student and
a spark of creative inspiration for Indonesian students.
