Resumen
Abstract
The photometric titration deals with the comparison between classical and photometric
methods. The classical method was evaluated a solution of acetic acid (vinegar) with
0.1M sodium hydroxide using as indicator phenolphthalein to obtain a change of color
from transparent to violet. An average acetic acid concentration of 0.0687 M was
calculated by this method. The same acetic acid solution was titrated with sodium
hydroxide in the presence of the p-nitrophenol indicator by measuring the absorbance at
a wavelength of 410nm. In this method, an increase in absorbance was obtained by
increasing the amount of sodium hydroxide until obtaining the turn at the equivalence
point of 7.85ml aggregates, and the concentration of acetic acid in the vinegar sample
equal to 0 was found, 0785 M which was compared with the classical method obtaining
an error of 17,43% in the first method and 5,8% in the second method.
