quality of education and movement must always be healthy and carried out by improving the
quality of learning. Through improving the quality of learning, students will be increasingly
motivated and learning, increasingly knowledgeable, and increasingly mastered, and more
stable than the material being studied. Efforts to improve the quality of education, a review of

One of the factors that influence learning is student activity. In the learning process, students
are asked to be active through activities that build groups and in normal times, making them
think about the subject matter.When learning openly, the process is free without feeling,
without question, and without attraction to results. When active learning, students look for
something. He wants to answer questions, information to solve problemsp, or improve ways
to do work. Very useful in education is very necessary, what is learned will be deeper in the
minds of students. In learning, lecturer are accustomed to presenting material using
conventional methods, namely the lecture method. This teaching method becomes a passive
student in receiving information. They are only invited to listen, without any activity. Thus
the lecturer does not know what really understands the material presented even though it
results in student achievement. To overcome the problem of unsustainable gelatin. Emphasis
on helping strategies that can be used as an alternative to increasing student activity, which
can further enhance student learning in learning. The strategy used is to answer the question.
Question answering system is an information retrieval system in which the expected response
givesdirectly the answer asrequested rather than set of references which have possibilities as
the answer. The objective of this research is to representknowledge and retrieve the answer
for a given question by utilizing Vector Space Model. While some mechanisms have
beendeveloped in question answering system such as N-gram, template-driven response,
reversible transformation, etc., an attempt touse Vector Space Model is conducted. The query
will be compared to the knowledge based by measuring their similarity.
