‫ور ثُ هم اله ِذينَ َكفَ ُرو ْا بِ َربِّ ِهم‬
َ ‫ت َوالن‬ ِ ‫ض َو َج َع َل الظلُ َما‬ َ
َ ‫ت َواأل ْر‬ ِ ‫اوا‬ َ ‫س َم‬
‫ق ال ه‬ َ َ‫➢ ﴿ا ْل َح ْم ُد ِ هّللِ اله ِذي َخل‬ ➢ understand it,
﴾ َ‫يَ ْع ِدلُون‬ ➢ act upon it

The cruel jokes which we Muslims play with the Book of Allah are
so ridiculous that if we saw someone else doing such things in any
other sphere of life, we would consider them as an foolish person.
Tell me,what would you say,
if somebody got a prescription from a physician and hung it round
his neck after wrapping it in a piece of cloth or washed it in water
and drank it?
Would we not laugh at him and call him a fool?
Tell me, what would you think,
if sick person picked up a prescription and began to read it,
believing that this would cure him?
Would you not say that he was crazy?
Yet this is how we treat the Book of supreme Healer has sent for
the cure of our diseases.
We think that just by flipping all its pages, our diseases will
disappear without following the directions given in them.
Are we not in the same situation as the man who considers that
reading a prescription will cure his illness?
If we receive a business letter in a language you do not know,
we go to a man who knows the language to find out what it says.
We remain anxious and restless until we find out what the letter
says, even though it will bring only some worldly profit.
But the letter sent to us by the Lord of the worlds which can bring
us all the benefits of this world and the Eternal Life is carelessly
set aside.

We do not show any uneasiness at not understanding its contents.

➢ To read the Quran not only for receiving the reward of its
recitation but to
➢ understand it meaning and
➢ to act upon according to its instruction.
This the way The Sahabah (RA) used to deal with the Quran:
The Sahabah (ra) would take shifts to spend time with the Prophet
(sm). Whatever one learned he would tell the other in the evening.
Each time the Qur’an was revealed the Prophet (SAW) would
explain it to them.
`Umar (ra) said: I and My Ansari neighbor from Bani Umaiya
bin Zaid who used to live at `Awalil Medina we used to visit the
Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬by turns.
،‫ يَ ْن ِز ُل يَ ْو ًما َوأَ ْن ِز ُل يَ ْو ًما‬He used to go one day and I another day.
،‫ فَإ ِ َذا نَزَ ْلتُ ِج ْئتُهُ بِ َخبَ ِر َذلِكَ ا ْليَ ْو ِم ِمنَ ا ْل َو ْح ِى َو َغ ْي ِر ِه‬When I went I used to
bring the news of that day regarding wahyi and other things,
َ‫ َوإِ َذا نَزَ َل فَ َع َل ِم ْث َل َذلِك‬and when he went, he used to do the same for
me.
The do that because they did not want to miss any qur’anic
guidance without immediate implementation.
Abu Talha’s Bairuha Garden, Giving Property in Charity
Anas bin Malik (raa) Narrated that among the Ansars of Medina
Abu Talha (raa) had the largest number of date palms. The dearest
of his property to him was Bairuha garden which was facing the
Prophet’s Mosque. The Prophet (sm) used to enter it and drink of
its good fresh water.
 When the verse 92 of Surah Alu Imran revealed. Which says: ‫لَن‬ Uamr was called and the verse was recited to him and when he
َ‫ تَنَالُو ْا ا ْلبِ هر َحتهى تُنفِقُو ْا ِم هما ت ُِحبون‬You will not attain piety unless you reached at “
spend of that which you love.” َ‫ فَ َه ْل أَنتُم منتَهُون‬Will you not then abstain? Umar said: ‫ انتهينا‬،‫انتهينا‬
We have abstained! We have abstained.
Abu Talha got up and said: O, Prophet of Allah! the dearest of
my property to me is the Bairuha garden
Anas b. Malik said :I had been serving Fadikh (that is, a wine
and I want to give it in charity in Allah’s Cause, seeking to be
prepared from fresh dates) to Abu Talha and Abu Ayyub and some
rewarded by Allah for that. So you can spend it, O, Prophet of
persons from amongst the Companions of the Messenger of Allah
Allah! , where ever Allah instructs you."
(‫ )ﷺ‬in our house.
The Prophet (saws) said,
When a person came and said: ‫ َه ْل بَلَ َغ ُك ُم ا ْل َخبَ ُر‬Has the news reached
‫ وإني أرى أن تجعلها في‬، َ‫ وقد سمعتُ ما قلت‬،‫رابح‬
ٌ ‫ ذلك ما ٌل‬،‫رابح‬
ٌ ‫خ؛ ذلك ما ٌل‬ٍ َ‫ب‬ you?
‫األقربِين‬
َ
"Good! That is a profitable wealth" He said, "I have heard what We said, No.
you have said but in my opinion you’d better give it to your kith He said: ْ‫ فَإِنه ا ْل َخ ْم َر قَ ْد ُح ِّر َمت‬Verily Khamr has been prohibited.

On that Abu Talha (raa) said, "I will do so, O Allah’s Apostle!" ْ ‫س أَ ِر‬

Abu Talha (raa) distributed that garden among his kith and kin and

Al-Ma'idah: Allah says: ‫َعلَى ُجيُوبِ ِهنه‬
‫ص هد ُك ْم عَن‬ ِ ‫ضاء فِي ا ْل َخ ْم ِر َوا ْل َم ْي‬
ُ َ‫س ِر َوي‬ َ ‫ش ْيطَانُ أَن يُوقِ َع بَ ْينَ ُك ُم ا ْل َعد‬
َ ‫َاوةَ َوا ْلبَ ْغ‬ ‫﴿ إِنه َما يُ ِري ُد ال ه‬ ".and to draw their veils all over their Juyubihinna (i.e., their

 Imam Abu Dawud narrated in the authority of Ummu
Salamah (ra) who said: when the verse 59 of Suratul Ahzan that is:
‫يُ ْدنِينَ َعلَ ْي ِهنه ِمن َج َالبِيبِ ِهنه‬
"That they should cast their outer garments over their
persons" when this verse was revealed, ‫صا ِر َكأَنه َعلَى‬
. ‫سيَ ِة‬ َ
ِ ‫س ِهنه ا ْل ِغ ْربَانُ ِمنَ األ ْك‬
ِ ‫ ُر ُءو‬the women of Ansar came out as if they
had crows over their heads by wearing outer garments.
Change of Qiblah:
Al-Bara (ra) Narrated who said: The Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬prayed facing
Baitl Maqdis for 16 or 17 months but he wished that his Qibla
would be the Ka`ba (at Mecca).
(So Allah Revealed verse 144 of Surah al-Baqarah ( ‫ش ْط َر‬
ِ‫س ِج ِد ا ْل َح َرام‬
ْ ‫)ا ْل َم‬
and he offered `Asr prayers(in his Mosque facing Ka`ba at Mecca)
and some people prayed with him.
A man from among those who had prayed with the prophet went
out and passed by some people offering prayer in another mosque,
and they were in the state of bowing. He said,
ِ ‫ فَدَا ُروا َك َما ُه ْم قِبَ َل ا ْلبَ ْي‬،َ‫صله ْيتُ َم َع النهبِ ِّي قِبَ َل َم هكة‬
‫ت‬
"I, (swearing by Allah,) testify that I have prayed with the Prophet
(‫ )ﷺ‬facing Mecca." Hearing that, they turned their faces to the
Ka`ba while they were still bowing.
They neither waited for the next prayer not waited for verifying the
authenticity of the news. Rather immediately after hearing the
news they turned their faces to the Ka`ba. Allahu Akbar.

This is the reason for which the sahabah used to spend long time in
memorizing one surah.
َ َ‫ تَ َعله َم ُع َم ُر ا ْلبَقَ َرةَ فِي ا ْثنَت َْي َعش َْرة‬:‫َن ا ْب ِن ُع َم َر قَا َل‬
‫سنَةً فَلَ هما َختَ َم َها نَ َح َر َج ُزو ًرا‬
Ibn Umar said: Umar (ra) took 12 years to finish memorizing
Surah al‐Baqarah.
And He was so happy after memorizing it that he slaughtered a
camel and I invited all the people to come to a grand feast.'
َ ‫سا ُء األَ ْن‬
َ ِ‫َخ َر َج ن‬ It was such an important event for him, he memorized Surah
al‐Baqarah he made this huge invitation and called everyone to
come over, because of memorizing the Surah it was a great day of
celebration for him.

Now we can memorize Qur'an within a few months‐ how come it
took him so long?
The Companions were keen on learning the Qur’an from the
َ َ‫ف َو ِّل َو ْج َهك‬ Prophet (sm) and were keen on its interpretation and its
memorization.
ْ‫ "أَنه ُه ْم َكانُوا يَ ْقتَ ِرئُونَ ِمن‬:ِ‫هللا‬ ‫سو ُل ه‬ ُ ‫اب َر‬ُ ‫ص َح‬ ْ َ‫ َ هدثَنَا أ‬: ‫ قَا َل‬، ‫عَنْ أَبِي َع ْب ِد ال هر ْح َم ِن السلَ ِم ِّي‬
.‫هللاِ فَال يُ َجا ِو ُزونَ ا ْل َعش َْر َحتهى يَ ْعلَ ُموا َما فِي ِه ِمنَ ا ْل ِع ْل ِم َوا ْل َع َم ِل‬ ‫ول ه‬
ِ ‫س‬ ُ ‫َر‬
Abu ‘Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami states that those who would recite
the Qur’an, like Uthman b. Affan, Abdallah b. Mas’ud and others,
َ ‫اّللِ لَقَ ْد‬ ْ َ‫أ‬
‫ش َه ُد بِ ه‬ would tell us that if they had been taught ten verses by the Prophet
(sm), they would not exceed that amount until they had learnt what
they contained in terms of knowledge and practice.
They said, ‫ فَتَ َعله ْمنَا ا ْلقُ ْرآنَ َوا ْل ِع ْل َم َوا ْل َع َم َل َج ِمي ًعا‬.
“So we learned the Qur’an, knowledge, and practice at once.

‫الحمد ّلل على إحسانه‪ ،‬والشكر له على توفيقه وامتنانه‪ ،‬وأشهد أن ال إله إال هللا وحده‬ ‫(‪ )18‬الله ُه هم إنا نعوذ بك من الشقاق والنفاق‪ ،‬ونعوذ بك من سوء األخالق‪.‬‬
‫ال شريك له تعظيما لشأنه‪ ،‬وأشهد أن محمدا عبده ورسوله الداعي إلى رضوانه‪،‬‬ ‫كشف الغمة عن هذه األمة اللهم أصلح‬ ‫(‪ )19‬اللهم أعز اِلسالم والمسلمين ‪،‬اللهم ا ِ‬
‫الهادي إلى إحسانه‪ ،‬صلى هللا عليه وعلى آله وأصحابه وأعوانه وسلم تسليما كثيرا‪.‬‬ ‫أحوال هذه األمة‬
‫أما بعد‪ :‬فيا عباد هللا‬ ‫(‪ )20‬اللهم انصر المسلمين المستضعفين في كل مكان‪،‬‬
‫إن هللا أمركم بأمر بدأ فيه نفسه وثنى بمالئكته المقدسة بقدسه وثلث بكم أيها المؤمنون‬ ‫(‪ )21‬اللهم وفق والة أمور المسلمين إلى الحكم بشريعتك واتباع سنة نبيك‪ ،‬اللهم‬
‫صلونَ َعلَى النهبِ ِّي يَا أَي َها اله ِذينَ آ َمنُوا‬ ‫من إنسه وجنه فقال قوال كريما (إِنه ه‬
‫هللاَ َو َم َالئِ َكتَهُ يُ َ‬ ‫اجعلهم رحمة على عبادك‪.‬‬

‫ان َو َال ت َْج َع ْل فِي قُلُوبِنَا ِغ هالً لِّله ِذينَ‬ ‫(‪َ )5‬ربهنَا ا ْغفِ ْر لَنَا َو ِ ِِل ْخ َوانِنَا اله ِذينَ َ‬
‫سبَقُونَا بِ ْ ِ‬
‫اِلي َم ِ‬
‫آ َمنُوا َربهنَا إِنهكَ َر ُءوفٌ هر ِحي ٌم‬
‫(‪ )6‬اللهم حبب إلينا اِليمان‬
‫(‪ )7‬اللهم أصلح لنا ديننا‬
‫(‪ )8‬اللهم اقسم لنا من خشيتك ما‬
‫(‪ )9‬اللهم إنّا نسألك موجبات رحمتك وعزائم مغفرتك والسالمة من ُك ِّل إِ ْثم والغنيمة‬
‫ِمن ُك ِّل بر والفوز بالجنة ‪ ،‬والنجاة من النار‬
‫(‪ )10‬اللهم إنا نسألك من الخير كله عاجله وآجله ما علمنا منه وما لم أعلم‪ ،‬ونعوذ‬
‫بك من الشر كله عاجله وآجله ما علمنا منه وما لم نعلم‪.‬‬
‫(‪ )11‬اللهم إنا نسألك الجنة وما قرب إليها من قول أو عمل‪ ،‬ونعوذ بك من النار وما‬
‫قرب إليها من قول أو عمل‪.‬‬
‫(‪ )12‬اللهم إنا نسألك علما ً نافعا ً وفهما كامال وعمال متقبال ورزقا واسعا حالال طيبا‬
‫(‪ )13‬اللهم إنا نسألك إيمانا كامال ويقينا صادقا وقلبا خاشعا ولسانا ذاكرا وتوبة‬
‫نصوحا وتوبة قبل الموت وراحة عند الموت والمغفرة بعد الموت‬
‫(‪ )14‬اللهم إنا نسألك حبك‪ ،‬وحب من يحبك‪ ،‬وحب عمل يقربنا إلى حبك‬
‫ب ال يخشع‪ ،‬ومن عين ال تدمع‪ ،‬ومن‬ ‫علم ال ينفع‪ ،‬ومن قل ٍ‬ ‫(‪ )15‬الله هم إنها نعوذ بكَ من ٍ‬
‫س ال تشبع‪ ،‬ومن دعو ٍة ال يُستجاب لها)‬ ‫نف ٍ‬
‫ضا ِء‪َ ،‬وشَماتَ ِة‬ ‫َ‬ ‫ْ‬
‫سو ِء الق َ‬ ‫شقا ِء‪َ ،‬و ُ‬ ‫َ‬ ‫ْ‬ ‫ه‬
