PRINT MAKING

About the Course


This course provides an introduction to printmaking, including the basic techniques of relief print.

Objective of the Course


The objective of this course is to provide students with the skills necessary to safely execute, present and evaluate
selected examples of relief prints, using a variety of materials, tools and techniques.

Upon completion of this course students will be able to


- Analyze and interpret works of art.
- Create works of art that utilize technical understanding and an appreciation of craft.
- Use vocabulary specific to printmaking.
- Create works of art that utilize the elements of art and design.
- Create works of art that utilize expressive, emotive, and aesthetic elements.

Assignments
There will be 2 assignments. They are based on following directions given in classroom demonstrations. Restrictions
on technique are specified while subject matter and imagery is determined by the student.

Course Format
Demonstration-The demonstrations will be announced in class.
Studio Work- Printing will be done at the class time.
Sketchbook- Students will keep a sketchbook for use as their visual diary. It should be used to develop their ideas;
note taking during demos, for research on artists, etc.

Duration
10 Hours, 2 and a half day
Weekdays / Wed to Fri / 4 hours class

Certification
A 'Certificate of Participation' by FMG Group of Institutions to all Participants of this workshop. At the end of this
workshop, a small competition will be organized among the participating students and winners will be awarded with
a 'Certificate of Merit'.

Eligibility
This is Basic level workshop so there are no prerequisites. Anyone interested, can join these workshops.

Fee
Rs. 5000/- (inclusive of all Taxes) per participant
* The fee include study material, Certification, human resources and other charges.

Requirement per candidate


 Lino Sheet - A4 Size for which candidate is charged Rs. 60/- per sheet.
 Printing Ink.
 A permanent marker.
 Lino Tools for which candidate is charged Rs. 600/- or Rs. 150/- per set.
 A Cartridge Sheet for which candidate is charged Rs. 15/- per sheet.
 A Newsprint Paper for which candidate is charged Rs. 5/- per sheet.
 An heavy spoon or other blunt rounded object for hand rubbing prints.
 One pad of tracing paper, minimum 12 inches on the shortest side.
 Masking tape.
 Brown tape.
 At least 4 different colored pencils or pens.
 Disposable rubber gloves.
