DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN ART

GRADE 4

I. Objectives
At the end of the period, the class will be able to:
A. Differentiate the given textures
B. Appreciate the relief printing in the Philippines.
C. Create an artwork that shows the different texture.

II. Subject matter


Main concept : Relief Printing
Sub – concept : Texture (Actual and Visual texture)
Materials:
 Bar of Clay
 Acrylic or Poster Paint
 Paintbrush
 Newspaper
 Apron or Extra Shirt
 Oslo Paper

1. Motivation

Mystery Box

Direction: The pupil will be blindfolded and guess


the object based on its texture.

Objects:

 Cotton
 Sand paper
 Slime

What is the texture of this object based from what


you felt? (cotton)
Teacher, it’s soft and fluffy.
That’s right! What is this object?

Correct! Next object. It’s cotton!

What is the texture of this object based from what


you felt? (sand paper)
Teacher, it’s rough.
Good job! What is this object?
It’s sand paper!
Correct! Next object.

What is the texture of this object based from what


you felt? (slime) Teacher, it’s gooey and slimey.

Good! What is this object?


It’s slime!
Correct! Very good, gr.4 pupils!
2. Developmental Activities

a. Lesson Proper

So today, we’re going to discuss about texture.

(The teacher will present the meaning and kinds of


texture.)

(The teacher will show 3 examples of visual texture


and ask the pupils what is the texture of each
picture.)

(The teacher will ask 3 pupils to get a random


(imitating the sound assigned
object in the room and tell the class its texture.)

Now class group yourselves into 5 groups quietly.


(Students group themselves

Bring out your materials and then listen to my


instructions. You will make your own seal that will
represent your group. Using clay, you will mold it
into round then flatten it and then the design will be
on your own.

(teacher show his work as an example)


(Student listen)
Then after you will paint your seal and stamp it
gently in your Oslo Paper and then I will call 1
representative to explain your work. I will give only
10 minutes to finish all the work. Your timer starts (Students starts to mold the clay
now. and put designs)

(After 10 minutes)

Now everyone, Representatives please come here


in front and explain your work.
(Student explain)

Excellent! Let’s give them a round of applause.


Another representative please.

(The teacher will continue calling group


representative until all group present their work.)
