GORILLAS
Gorillas are the largest of all the primates. A male gorilla can be 180 centimeters tall and can weigh 200
kilograms. Gorillas are very strong but they do not often fight. In fact they are peaceful animals.
Gorillas live n small familly groups of about 15. In a group there is one strong, older male, some young
males, and a few femles with their babies. They move slowly aroud large area of jungle eating leaves and
bushes.
In some way gorillas are very like humans. When they are happy, they laugh and wave their arms. When
they are angry, they beat their chests. When they are sad, they cry. But they cry quietly, without any tears.
Unfortunately, people hunt and kill gorillas. They also cut down and burn their trees. There are now only
about 10.000 gorillas left in the world.

Do you know that a giraffe may grow than six meters tall? Yes, the giraffe is a very tall animal.
In fact, it is the tallest animal in the world. A giraffe has a very long neck. Unfortunately, the girafee
can’t bend its neck easily.
Thus, when it wants to drink water at a pool, the giraffe has to spread its fronts legs apart, so it
can reach the water.
A giraffe feeds on plants only. Hence, it can reach the leaves on trees easily because of its
height. Also, a giraffe has a very long tongue about 0,5 meter long. The girafee uses this long tongue
skillfully to pick leaves off plants and trees. This tall animal can protect itself very well. It has a very
good sense of smell and sight. It can hear very well, too. Finally, it can gallop very fast a speed of 50
km.p.h the giraffe’s hind legs and long neck are also very useful. For example, a giraffe can kick its

There were so many places to see in Bali that my friend decided to join the tours to see as much
as possible. My friend stayed in Kuta on arrival. He spent the first three days swimming and surfing on
Kuta beach. He visited some tour agents and selected two tours. The first one was to Singaraja, the
second was to Ubud.
On the day of tour, he was ready. My friend and his group drove on through mountain.
Singaraja is a city of aboutb 90 thousand people. It is busy but quiet town. The street is lined with trees
and there are many old Dutch houses.
The second tour to Ubud was a very different tour. It was not to see the scenery but to see the
art and the craft of the island. The first stop was at Batubulan, a centre of stone sculpture. The next stop
was Culuk, a centre for silversmiths and golden smiths. After that, he stopped for lunch at Sukawati
and on to Mass.
My friend ten day stay ended very quickly besides his two tours, all his day was spent on the
beach. H went sailing ao surfboarding every day. He was quite statisfied.

The Importance of Education

I personally think that education is very important for us as indonesian teenager who will take
over values, good morals, culture, and knowldge. We also bring the future of indonesia nation in the
middle of world global civilization.
The condition of education in indonesia is terrible. Why do i say that? In fact there are many
regions that have not been reached by good education. If the condition is going like this, i am sure it is
difficult for indonesia to be a prosperous country must have a good basic education, because by having
good education, people will get job easily, good life. Due to this reason, it makes the country
prosperous.
To improve education system in indonesia, the government has tried to provide education
evently to all part of indonesian and to apply suitable education system that can make people clever and
civilized. So, indonesian can life better in this modern and sophisticated era. By the existence of
education in our country, we will be able to reach the degree of knowledge or science. Besides, the
indonesian human resources will be equal with people in all around the world.
In short, it is obvious that as young indonesian genertion, education is very imortant.

The Tortoise and the Hare

There once was a speedy hare who bragged about how fast he could run. Tired of hearing him boats,
Slow and steady, the tortoise, challenged him to a race. All the animals in the forest gathered to watch.
Hare ran down the road for a while and then and paused to rest. He looked back at Slow and Steady and
cried out, “ How do you expect to win thise race when you are walking along at your slow, slow pace?”
Hare stretched himself out alongside the road and fell asleep, thinking, “There is plenty of time to relax.”
