ZULF 1200 Ship Impact analysis points to note:

Modified T-Z and P-Y soil curves are used for used for the generation
of PSI. Static P-Y curve is considered for boat impact and Cyclic P-Y curve is considered
for Bollard pull.

The ship impact cases considered above are used for pile penetration design purpose.
Hence, the jacket member unity checks are not reported in this document.

This report summarizes the result of the following analyses for Blanket loads.

_ Operating Ship Impact (for maximum and minimum gravity loads).

_ Accidental Ship Impact (for maximum and minimum gravity loads)

_ Bollard Pull (1 year storm, with max. water depth and max. wave period

Vessel displacement M: 3500 MT

Approach angle for operating Impact: 30 deg

Approach angle for accidental Impact: 90 deg

Approach velocity for operating and accidental: 1 kont : V = 0.514 m/s

Added mass co-efficient: Cm: 1.4

Kinetic energy absorbed by platform: 0.9 x 0.5 x M x (V x sin  )2 x Cm

KE: Operating = 0.146 MJ

KE: Accidental = 0.583 MJ.

Environmental loads are not considered to be acting simultaneous with ship impact loads.

For the operating ship impact, a linear static analysis is carried out with the required load factors
obtained from collapse analysis.

Only piles are code checked. No AMOD considered.

Bollard Pull:

135 kN @ each bollard and Mooring cleat simultaneously

Inplace soil data – cyclic with one year governing storm conditions.
Results Summary:

Operating ship impact:

Total energy requirement: 0.146 MJ

Scenarios: Total 12 impact point locations for 24 cses (same for Maximum -12 and
Minimum -12 )

3 West.

9 East

- 100% energy to be observed without any collapse

- No plasticity in piles and jacket
- Maximum impact load factors of 2.88 – Load condition BW11

Linear static analysis:

- Performed for piles

- Load factors corresponding to 100 % energy absorption
- Piles stress should be within allowable
- FoS for piles : 2.0 only for operating case.

Output:

Operating Impact condition – Compression

Operating Impact condition – Tension

Pile fixity – where lateral displacement and rotation is zero.

No plasticity is observed in the jacket, permanent boat landing members and pile members.
Accidental Ship Impact

- On boatlanding and barge bumper

- Total Energy requirement : 0.583 MJ
- 9 impact scenarios – 2 on East, 2 on West, 2 On south, 3 for north barge bumper
- 18 cases (9 for min gravity and 9 for ma gravity)
- Boatlanding and Barge bumpers are allowed to form plasticity without collapse

Methodology:

- 100% energy absorbed – no structural collapse

- No plasticity observed in boatlanding permanent members, jackets and piles.
- Maximum load factor – observed on – NW45
- Max pilehead reaction: 15.15 MN
- Accidental impact condition – compression and tension

Boat-landing members and jacket members - elastic limit for E=145.6 kJ.

Jacket members - elastic limit for E = 582.55 kJ.
