As shown in the following figure, stick a seal on the cover portion of SB.

 2. Initialization and Checking Cable Connections

2.1 Preparation of Devices

At first, initialize the JUE-87 after turning on the power switch of JUE-87 and confirming that
EME and IME(DTE unit) are compatible with model. If EME and IME(DTE unit) are not
compatible with model, replace EME and/or IME to the correct one.

(1) Display for Model Compatibility

The following message is displayed. To close this window, press F10 (“Previous”) key.

(2) Display for Model Incompatibility

① In case of EME and IME (DTE unit) are incompatible with country mode.
Example:
JUE-87 EME (Russian model) is connected to JUE-87 IME (DTE unit: Standard model).
The following message is displayed. To close this window, press F10 (“Previous”) key.

②In the case of EME and IME (DTE unit) are incompatible with model.
Example:
JUE-85EME ( NAF-253GM) is connected to JUE-87 IME (DTE unit: Standard model).
The following message is displayed. To close this window, press F10 (“Previous”) key.

Example:
JUE-95SA EME (NAF-253SA) is connected to JUE-87 IME (DTE unit: Standard model).
The following message is displayed. To close this window, press F10 (“Previous”) key.

It is necessary to initiate maintenance mode for initialization.

(1) Turn on the IME.

(2) The boot screen will be displayed about 5 seconds after turn on the IME.
Press the ‘N’+‘D’+‘Z’ keys during “now loading”.
The maintenance mode will be initiated (refer to Fig.2.1.1).

NOTE

Please wait about 30 seconds after initiating to maintenance mode until

communication between EME-IME starts to get software version or other data.

2.2 MES No. Confirmation/Setting
MES No. confirmation and setting are can be done on MES No. screen.

2.2.1 MES No. Confirmation

(1) Press up key or down key, select [5. Inmarsat-C Setting & Checking] and press ‘Enter’ key
on Maintenance Menu screen. Continuously, select [Initial Setting] and press ‘Enter’ key.
Inmarsat-C Initial Setting screen (refer to Fig.2.2.1b) will be displayed.

(2) Press up key or down key, select [Inmarsat Mobile Number] and press ‘Enter’ key.
Inmarsat Mobile Number screen (refer to Fig.4.2.1c) will be displayed.

(3) Confirm the data of MES No. on above screen.

2.2.2 MES No. Setting
(1) Press ‘Enter’ key on Inmarsat Mobile Number screen, then can edit.
(2) Input 9-digit figures to MES No. from the range of 400000000 to 499999999
and press ‘Enter’ key.
(3) Press ‘F10’ key.

 3. Country Mode Confirmation/Setting
Confirmation of Country Mode can be done on Alarm history screen.

3.1 Country Mode Confirmation

(1) Turn on the IME.
(2) Press ‘Alt+A’ key on Main Menu screen. Continuously, select [Alarm history] and
press ‘Enter’ key. Alarm history screen (refer to Fig.3.1b) will be displayed.

 (3) Confirm on Alarm History screen that a model name is JUE87U.
If Model name is JUE87U, Country Mode Confirmation finish.
And if Model name is not JUE87U, confirm "ACSE" software version.
If ACSE version is more than 01.04, refer to Chapter 3.2.
And if ACSE version is no less than 01.04, the software does not correspond to USCG.
And update to ACSE software ver01.04 and refer to Chapter 3.2.

3.2 Country Mode Setting

Only When Model name is not JUE87U, set up Country Mode in the following procedure.

(1) Turn on the IME.

(2) The boot screen will be displayed about 30 seconds after turn on the IME.
Press the ‘N’, ‘D’, ‘Z’ keys during checking ROM/RAM in the boot screen.
The maintenance mode will be initiated(refer to Fig.3.2a).

NOTE

Please wait about 30 seconds after initiating to maintenance mode

until communication between EME-IME starts.

(3) Press up key or down key, select [5. Inmarsat-C Setting & Checking] and press ‘Enter’ key
on Maintenance Menu screen. Continuously, select [Initial Setting] and press ‘Enter’ key.
Inmarsat-C Initial Setting screen (refer to Fig.3.2b) will be displayed.

(4) Press up key or down key, select [Country Mode] and press ‘Enter’ key.
Country Mode screen (refer to Fig.3.2c) will be displayed.

(5) Select "Usa" and press ‘Enter’ key.

(6) Restart the terminal and redo a Country Mode Confrimation(Refer 3.1).
