• Divergent
Divergent is about being different. It is about
something standing out, or things radiating from a
common point to go different directions. The
preliminary sketch is a circle with lines radiating
out of it. This would be a design motif that I
would try to incorporate as much as possible
throughout the space.
For my final floor plan I wanted the main areas to be really opened. I tried to keep the spaces divided
by what the customers would use most, and then the work areas separate, so that customers wouldn’t
have to travel far. I went for square tables in the dining area so that they could be connected and
made into tables for 6 as needed. I tried to keep the manager’s office and private dining separated so
that they don’t hear too much noise. The original shell of the building was not changed at all.

Ceiling Plan
This picture indicates the exit passageways, with distances that added together
will get the maximum travel distance, as well will indicate the distance between
the two passageways. I didn’t add any doors because we weren’t able to, but
there are two exits from the original building shell.
