Carolina Creel, Principal

Providence Public School District
Robert L. Baily, IV Elementary School
65 Gordon Avenue
Providence RI, 02905

Dear Ms. Creel,

Thank you for the opportunity to secure an elementary education position at your school. I feel

that my abilities, passion for teaching, work ethic and instructional knowledge would benefit

your educational program as well as allow me to build upon my experience.

Throughout my high school and college years, I have dedicated my time into becoming an

elementary teacher. During high school I was enrolled in the T.A.F.E (Texas Association of

Future Educators) program where I was able to gain hands-on experience with general education

classrooms as well as assist within special education classrooms. Once I graduated from high

school, I pursued a degree in education as an EC-6 generalist. Through my college experience I

have found how to incorporate all students regardless of background, knowledge and even

disabilities in my class. I feel this is vital in proper education of all students.

As a teacher, I hope to encourage, motivate and inspire my future students and stimulate learning

while building upon their strengths while working on areas of improvement. This can be done
through differentiated lessons, small groups and hands-on learning activities. When you make

learning fun and engaging kids enjoy school and strive to learn. I have worked with children

from multiple backgrounds, cultures and even worked with families of English language

learners. Because I come from a border city, I have gained this hands on experience from high

school to present day.

Through my experience as a religious education teacher for the past eight years I have learned

that incorporating your students’ ideas, interests and learning styles creates a positive learning

environment. Also, because no two students learn the same way, educators need to tailor a lesson

that will benefit all students in their classroom. Some students may need additional support, and

through my educational experience I feel like this is a skill that I’ll be able to incorporate into my

classroom.

I have had experience within multiple classrooms such as regular education, special education

and even integrated classrooms. There are many support systems in place that ensure students are

receiving an education that is most beneficial for them. While working in these multiple

education settings, I have gained the knowledge needed to conduct my own classroom. Of course

there are some aspects that can only be learned through experience, however the skills I have

acquired over the years allows me to assist multiple students whether they have a learning

disability, are simply behind academically, or are just struggling learners.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you in the near

future. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

Sincerely,

Cassandra Ruvalcaba
