Talking about the Weather
Here is a discussion activity to help students practice talking about the weather.

Before class, make one copy of the worksheet for each group of three or four and cut as
indicated.

Procedure

Divide the students into groups of three or four.

Give each group a set of shuffled cards. Ask them to place the cards face down in a pile.

Tell the students to take it in turns to pick up a card and ask the other students in their group the
question on the card.

Encourage the students to ask follow-up questions where appropriate.

Be on hand to clarify any difficult words, phrases, or questions, e.g. weather patterns, traditions,
etc.

Set a time limit of 15-20 minutes for students to discuss the questions.

When the students have finished, go through the questions and get feedback from around the
class.
