Overall aim and context of the lesson

In this lesson the students were able to:

 Identify the materials or objects that reversible and irreversible.

 Demonstrate what happen of some different objects (paper, plastic, cotton, fabric, wood,
metal, and candle) when burn them.
 Explain that changes caused by burning form new materials, and that these changes are
not reversible.

Select (S):

This lesson is the eighth session of the course. It’s explaining what would happen to the differences
materials when burn them.

Describe (D):

This lesson for year five students to learn what would happen to different materials when burn
them. It was in grade five class in the school. I was trying to teach them what would happen to
different materials when we burn them, such as paper, plastic, cotton, fabric, wood, metal, and
candle. In this lesson, the students think and figure out of some of materials or objects that we can
burn them, and they guess and explain what will happen if we burn them.
Analyze (A):

I think the students responded with the way that they did because they understood all the
instructions of the activities and the goals of the lesson. I have tested their understanding through
present some pictures of different materials ask them to think what would happen if we set them
on fire and what would the effects be, and this to measure their thinking and see if they get the
same ideas or different. Also, I engaged the students by asking them to come in front of the class
and take one question card. Then they discussed with their group to solve this question. This
activity helped them to remember what they learned in the last lesson, and it developed their skills
and lesson information more.
Appraise (A):

There was no experiment in this lesson because I think the students will maybe burn them self or
something like that. However, they work as a group to think and discuss about burning the different
materials. I believe that this lesson meets my teaching goals, because the students understood the
meaning of the lesson well and they have a lot of information and experiences about the burning.
Transform (T):

In the future I will enhance student learning of this lesson through using some real hands on. For
example, I will burn the paper and ask the students to see what happened and if it has reversible
and irreversible changes. The implications for my professional practice are it can improve my skills
more and achieve my teaching goals during the semester.
