Process for oil distribution

supply and trading

we supply the best products to the right locations at the right times

Chevron Supply and Trading (S&T) provides a critical link between the market and Chevron’s upstream,
downstream and chemicals companies. We provide commercial support to our crude oil and natural gas
production operations and to our refining and marketing network. S&T is headquartered in Houston,
Texas, and has offices worldwide – including trading hubs in Houston, London, Singapore and San
Ramon, California. Our trading professionals manage commodity transactions averaging 5 million barrels
of liquids and 5 billion cubic feet of natural gas each day. Our activities are organized by crude oil,
natural gas and refined products.

crude supply and trading

Crude Supply and Trading (CSAT) buys, sells and transports all major grades of crude oil. CSAT secures
the best prices for selling Chevron’s upstream production and for purchasing crudes used by our
refineries. CSAT works closely with Chevron Shipping Company, Chevron Pipe Line Company and third
parties to transport crudes for customers around the world including Chevron's Americas Products and
International Products organizations.

gas supply and trading

Gas Supply and Trading (GSAT) helps maximize the value of Chevron’s equity natural gas, liquefied
petroleum gas (LPG)/natural gas liquids (NGLs) and LNG globally. GSAT markets and manages
transportation for Chevron’s equity natural gas production and manages all LPG/NGL trading activities.
Additionally, GSAT negotiates long-term LNG contracts, lifts supply of LNG cargoes and engages in short-
term LNG trades in order to market production from Chevron’s LNG projects.

In the U.S. natural gas markets, Chevron Natural Gas, a division of Chevron U.S.A, Inc. (CNG) adheres to
an employee Code of Conduct as part of its blanket market certificate from the Federal Energy
Regulatory Commission.

product supply and trading

Product Supply and Trading manages global supply, trading and logistics for a wide range of products,
including feedstocks, fuels, and refined products like gasoline, naphtha, diesel, jet fuel, heavy fuels,
biofuels, coke, sulfur, ammonia and asphalt, and other products for the manufacturing and marketing
network.

Distribution system

The Global Marketing Logistics department oversees a very large fuels distribution system. The
department coordinates worldwide distribution of approximately 12 billion gallons of fuel products each
year. Roughly a third of the total volume is handled by Chevron's proprietary fleet of 500-plus petroleum
transports, 115 of which are in the United States. Approximately 100 contract carriers transport the
overwhelming majority of fuels shipments. They range in size from hundreds of trucks to as few as 10.

Chevron sets high bar for petroleum distribution quality

Chevron Corp petroleum transports stand out wherever they operate in the world. This rig with its
colorful billboard graphics is based at the oil company’s Avon CA terminal. The company runs Peterbilt
tractors and Heil tank trailers in the United States. Chevron’s worldwide fleet stands at about 500
vehicles and about 115 are based in the United States.

Four Years ago, the Global Marketing Logistics team at Chevron Products Co made a commitment to
build the best fuels distribution system in the world. While there is still work to do, they have made
incredible progress.

One focal point of this effort is the Road Transport Safety Management (RTS) plan that sets out the
company's expectations for operational excellence in all facets of Chevron fuel delivery system.

Application and Importance of Physical Chemistry in Oil and gas Industry

Understanding of the physical and chemical principles relating to the production

and refining of petroleum has contributed to the emergence of a truly chemical
industry based upon petroleum as a raw material. This transition would have
been retarded and its ultimate accomplishment impaired except for the
application of experimental data and associated generalizations concerning the
physical properties of hydrocarbons by the technical personnel of the industry at
large. The contributions of numerous investigators to the background of
experimental information and its correlation for the petroleum industry are
described and a brief review of the more pertinent literature is presented.

The importance of Physical Chemistry is highlighted by variety of outstanding drug

withdrawals in recent years. Each of these withdrawals was preceded by severe or
fatal adverse effects that had been unrecognized or underappreciated at the time
of approval. exploitation the tools of Physical Chemistry, it's potential to spot

are essential for the study of risks and benefits associated with marketed drugs.
