Post Lesson Reflection

Overall aim and context of the lesson – (Brief description)

I had a math lesson it was about numbers. and it was a new number which is number 8.
I started the lesson by letting the children to count the numbers from 1 to 7 and then
asked them what is the next number they knew it was 8 so I told them that today we
are going to learn about number 8 and I present for them PowerPoint show about the
number and there were some activities that let the children count the numbers from 1
to 8 and the children like it and they were participating with me and answering my
questions when I ask them about the number 8. And I taught them how to write the
number as well and the children understand the lesson very well.
Choose two aspects from the competency areas to evaluate and discuss (one paragraph each) according
to following:

Discuss one aspect that YOU feel you did very well. Try to analyze why you think it worked well about the
successful strategy/ resource/activity/management style etc.

When I let the students count the numbers they like it and this keeps them focus about
what is the lesson and so the new number is going to be in their minds as well as the
old numbers that they have taken before.
And when I let the students come to the board and show me the number 8 and some
of them I let them write it to make sure they understood the lesson and they are able
to identify the number 8.
Discuss an aspect identified by YOU that requires attention. Discuss what the problem was, why it occurred
and what action you intend to take to be more successful in the next lesson.

The students were answering without giving chance for others to think and without
even raising their hands so I should tell the students to rise up your hand before you
answer and give chance for other students to think and answer

Consider your classroom management?

The students were so participating and organized they were sitting in a good way but
they weren’t rising their hands before answering the questions and they were saying
answers randomly which is wrong and I should let them rise their hands before they
talk.
Did you achieve your objectives? Did the children learn? How do you know this?
EPC 2403 Teaching Practicum 2a

Yes, I achieved my lesson objects which the students were able to identify the number
8 and they knew how to read it and write it as well. Because at the end of the lesson I
gave them small papers and let them write the number 8 and they were able to write
it.
Personal Focus for next Lesson:

I’ll focus on learning strategies to manage the classroom and how to make the lesson
more interesting and keep the students engaged.
