kinds of tasks did you perform and whom did you work with?

a. I communicated with patients and became familiar with the surrounding environment of
a hospital as well as, transporting patients and keeping them company

2. Write a one page reflection about your experience, positive and negative, and what you learned
about yourself, others and health services available while completing your community service.
Would you like working here? What job would you want if you worked here?
a. Volunteering at Cedar’s- Sinai Medical Hospital, I was introduced to new things. I was

introduced to many aspects of volunteering at a hospital I didn’t know prior. For in-

stance, something I learned was to never say “have a good day” to a patient at a hospi-

tal because you never know what could happen. This was a positive about the experi-

ence from volunteering at a hospital. Something negative had to be the commute to the

hospital. Commuting was difficult due to the distance of the hospital from my house. I

had to take 3 buses spanning over a 4 hour period meaning I had to leave my house

about 4 hours before my shift even began, sometimes I would not even eat lunch. Also,

I had no ride back to the hospital meaning I would get home about 2 hours later after

my shift ended due to less traffic. If I worked there, I would get a job as a surgeon and
 being in a a familiar environment would make me feel more confident and comfortable

about where I am working
