Rack Reset function can be initiated by any of the following:
� 3500 Rack Configuration/Display Software.
� Communication Gateway. � Hardware contact on the front of the RIM I/O module. � Push button switch on the front of the RIM. A rack reset will cause the RIM to send a module reset command to every module in the rack. See the Operator and Maintenance manual for the desired module to verify how the monitor will respond to this command. For example, on the 3500/42, the reset can be used to clear latched alarms. 3.4 Rack Trip Multiply and Reset Trip Multiply is a value selected to temporarily increase the alarm setpoint values in certain monitors. In Rack Config under the Utilities menu contains an option called Rack Trip Multiply and Reset that allows a user to apply the Trip Multiply and Reset commands to various monitors from the RIM. Trip Multiply can be invoked by: � Shorting the TM pin to COM on the RIM I/O module. � Selecting Enable All in the Trip Multiply screen in Rack Config. (See figure below) � A Communication Gateway.
