Staying Organized

First Day:
- Prepare nametags (and extra for more students)
- Students names on their desks
- Seating chart
- Have something for students to do upon entry
- Introductions, then rules/procedures/expectations
Start of the grading period:
- Have enough daily plans for 2 weeks
- Have plans for each unit you intend to teach
- Create overview lessons and unit plans before the school year starts and
daily plans at least two weeks in advance.
Unit Plans:
1. Determine essential knowledge
2. Determine prior knowledge
3. Determine length of units
4. Research appropriate activities
5. Select materials/resources/activities
6. Create assessments
Daily Plans:
- Refer to standards
- State specific objectives
- Create alternate activities
- Decide what assessments are appropriate
- Reflect
