In this figure, there

are 6 example of costal protection which is rock revetment, precast concrete revetment, gabion
seawall, stone block, detached offshore and groynes. Each of this structure have their own function
and objective.

By referring the table 7.2 we can determine its function and objective. The table below showing that,
structural option that can be used for costal protection. There are various type of costal protection
structure that can be used. However these type need to be consider form several factor such as cost,
design, location and its function.

From the table, revetment is used to protect shoreline against erosion. Next seawall is used to
protect land and structure form flooding and overtopping and erosion. Meanwhile, groyne is to
prevent beach erosion. Further of explanation on this structure can be seen in the table .
