Training is a must do so that employee skill does not decrease. Especially in


service companies one of them is hotel. Hospitality business makes producers
transact directly to consumers. So it takes the easy and workable training method
in the workplace so as not to disturb the consumer's convenience. One method is
On the job training. This research was conducted at Jambuluwuk Resort Batu at
Department Tecnik Enggineering. In this research the researcher focuses on: 1)
how the training standard on the job training employee used; 2) how the outcome
of on the job training training has been done; 3) how the suitability of training on
the job training based on existing standards with the results of the training that has
been done.

This research uses descriptive qualitative research design. Primary data


obtained through interviews and secondary data obtained from documents
obtained from the HRD and Depatemen Tecnik Enggineering. Data collection is
done by interviewing to Head of department and some existing staff. Instrument
used to collect data in the form of human instruments. That is the researcher
himself. To maintain data validity, data triangulation activities are performed. the
analysis activity starts from the data review stage, the data identification stage, the
data clarification stage, and the data evaluation phase.

Based on the data analysis, the following research results are obtained: 1)
The training standard used by Enggineering Engineering department is the overall
work skills needed to accomplish this task to fulfill the given responsibilities. The
training is aimed at all employees so that every task can be completed by anyone
in the department; 2) the training is done to improve the performance of
Enggineering Engineering department. It is supported by a consistent training
schedule that is regularly conducted and able to make employees to master the
skills in other fields; 3) The planned training is indeed needed to improve the
Kinera department of Enggineering. Assessed by planning, delivery of materials
and outcomes of the training are generally well done.

Training is a very important thing to do especially for service providers


because of the interaction directly between consumers and producers. so the
quality of service must be maintained in order to get a good assessment from
consumers. Training done in Jambuluwuk Batu, especially in the Tekning
Engginering department is well planned and indeed needed to maintain consumer
confidence. The training done at work is most effective for training Hard skills. If
such training continues the desired outcome criteria will be achieved. So it needs
to be consistent in running the training rotations.
