the URL. Alcohol is a colorless liquid that is produced by fermentation of sugars.

2. What is Alcohol Dehydrogenase? Alcohol Dehydrogenase is a group of

dehydrogenase enzymes. And a molecule is an enzyme system to the liver.

3. What is moderate drinking for man and a woman? 1 drink per day for women and 2

drinks per day for men.

4. What constitutes a drink? Use 2 drinks to answer. Answer:1 shot of tequila, and 3

beers.

5. What is the minimum BAC to be considered a DUI? You could name the most recent

one in Utah. The minimum BAC in Utah is .08 and will soon to be changed to .05.

7. How alcohol works in the brain, talk about GABA. Alcohol attacks the frontal cortex

in the brain and effects out motor skills as well as the ability to think clearly. GABA

is throughout the brain and it sends feelings through nerves.

8. List 3 acute effects from alcohol. Coldness, high blood pressure and makes us unable

to think clearly.

9. Explain liver cirrhosis. Cirrhosis of the liver is caused by drinking excessive amounts

of alcohol it leads to the liver rotting away and often leads to cancer.

10. Explain alcoholic dementia. When alcohol has affected your brain so bad to the point

of memory loss.

11. Explain cardiovascular problems from drinking. Because alcohol increases your heart

rate excessive amounts of drinking can lead to heart problems.

12. What is binge drinking? Drinking with no stopping until the point of a black out.

13. What is alcoholism? Is a chronic disease characterized by a preoccupation about

alcohol , regardless of the social, professional and family consequences.

14. Why they say once “an alcoholic, always an alcoholic”. Alcohol is very addictive and

once a person is addicted it is a hard habit to break.

15. What is THIQ? THIQ stands for Tetrahydroisoquinoline and is a drug used for

research.

16. What is the philosophy behind the 12 steps of AA? Accepting the fact that you are

addicted to alcohol.

17. List one of the steps of AA. “Continued to take personal inventory and when we were

wrong promptly admitted it”.

18. List 2 medications used in the treatment of alcoholics. Antabuse and Naltrexone

19. What is a smart recovery? Smart recovery is a non profit trying to help alcoholics

recovery safely.

20. List 3 suggestions form MADD. Drink responsibly, get a cab, don't drink and drive.

21. List 3 recommendations if you want to be considered a responsible drinker. Never

drive after drinking alcohol, Always have a DD, Stay home/indoors.

22. What are the 2 drugs which withdrawals could kill you? Opiates and Benzos.
