RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Research Design

The study utilized the descriptive survey method of research. It was designed to

depict the participants, who take part in the study, in an accurate way. Using survey method

by viewing and recording the participants’ responses from the evaluation sheets given to

them. In addition, a comparative method is also used to determine the differences between

the satisfactory level of 4Ps beneficiaries before and during its implementation.

Research Environment

The study was conducted in Barangay Loyonsawang, Abuyog, Leyte covering

beneficiaries of 4Ps. Loyonsawang is one of the given barangays of Abuyog, Leyte which

has several recipients that served as respondents for the data collection.

Data Gathering Procedure

Before interviewing beneficiaries, permission was asked from them and especially

the barangay Captain. The researcher secured letter of permission for the targeted

respondents from the administration office of Abuyog Community College.

After permission was duly obtained, the researcher personally interviewed the

desired respondents.

A sample of 22 were obtained using the following formula:

𝑁𝑉+ [𝑆𝑒 2 (1−𝑝)]

Ss = 𝑁𝑆𝑒+ [𝑉 2 (𝑝)(1−𝑝)]
11

Where:

Ss = sample size

N = Total number of population

Se = Sampling error

P = proportion

V = Standard value of percent level of probability

Research Instruments

Self-made evaluation sheets were made for the respondents regarding the

evaluation of 4Ps beneficiaries which is a five-level satisfactory ranging from 1 to 5, lowest

to highest satisfactory respectively. Different research materials like newspapers, journals,

blogs, and case studies were made as sources of researchers’ ideas in formulating the

categories. Public Utility Vehicles were used to commute to the area where the survey has

been conducted. Permission letter was sent for the Abuyog Community College

administration and the barangay Captain in the barangay where the survey has been carried

out.

Statistical Treatment

The answer of the respondents reflected on the questionnaire were tallied and

tabulated. To determine the status of beneficiaries of 4Ps whether they are experiencing

abundance in life or not.

The table below was used for recording and distribution of scores from the

evaluation sheets.

The tabulated scores of respondents of 4Ps recipients and non-beneficiaries were

interpreted using the t-test for dependent samples formula in order to decide either to accept

or reject the null hypothesis.
