Name of Student Teacher: Aisha Ali Alowais School: Al Darari Kindergarten

Professional Development Plan

(What do YOU need to work on in order to grow professionally?)
I need to work on managing my teacher voice and creating different tones while reading to keep the students enthused.
1. Choose and describe an aspect from a teaching competency that you need to work on (Goal)
A teacher competency I need to work on is my teacher voice and creating different tones while reading to keep
the students engrossed in the story.

2. Describe what you will do to help achieve your goal (Strategies Used)
I will use different tones while reading and see if that changes their reactions.

3. Describe how you can tell if you’re achieving your goal (Evidence)
I can tell I am achieving my goal if all the students are listening attentively rather than being distracted.

Opening (warmer activity + teacher introduction/demonstration of small group activities)

I will ask the students to stand up for the hello song, we will sing and dance.

I will greet the students, they will greet me back, followed by a brief how are you today.
Whole Time:

I will introduce the story “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?” to the students, and ask
10-15 minutes

them questions about the cover page.

While reading the story I will stop to ask questions about the animals and colors and animate the
different sounds to keep them interested. (There may be a time I need to stop for Athan, when the
Athan is heard the students need to sit quietly)
I will repeat the story if necessary; then model the activity for the students.

Guided Experience (group working with the teacher)

I will have a student hand out envelopes, each containing an animal. One by one I will ask them to
take out the picture in the envelope. An animal, I will ask them for example: Omar Omar What do
you see? And he will say Bird. I will ask him the color, then ask him to say “I see a red bird”. And
each student will have a different animal. I will use a checklist to assess the students; the students
who don’t get an envelope I will ask them questions during the independent activity as they will go
as the first group.
