1. INFORMATION
Refer to Standard Practices - Airframe Chapter 20-14-00, 201, for information on tools and equipment referenced in Table 601.

as specified in Table 602 is applied to the indicator under test and the operator does not have to compensate the
millivolt input signal for the ambient air temperature. If the operator is using an non temperature compensated
device such as a standard millivolt signal generator then the millivolt value shown in Table 602 will have to be
modified due to the effect of the ambient air temperature on the test. Refer to the MANUAL TEMPERATURE
COMPENSATION procedure data below to determine the input signal value to the indicator.
Ensure that the polarity of the alumel and chromel wires are strictly observed when making the test connections.
(2) Connect a device capable of generating a millivolt signal relative to the temperature test points. The JETCAL Analyzer (067,
Table 601), Omega Thermometer/Calibrator (071, Table 601), or Barfield ITT Test Set (069, Table 601) is suitable for this test.
Follow the test unit operator's manual instructions as applicable to this check.
(3) Apply 28 vdc to the airplane and power the ITT indicator.
(4) Select the 200°C calibration point on the test unit to apply the equivalent millivolt signal to the airframe thermocouple wire
harness. If the indicator reads between 183° and 217°C, it is within tolerance for the 200°C test point.
(5) Repeat the previous step for each test point (Ref. Table 602).
(6) If the indicator readings fall within tolerance for all test points, perform the remaining ITT system checks to verify integrity of the
thermocouple and thermocouple wire harness. If the indicator readings do not fall within tolerance, always perform a check of the
thermocouple wire harness before replacing the indicator.
(3) Repeat Steps (1) and (2) for the thermocouple's chromel lead.
(4) If either lead check does not meet the resistance requirements specified, the engine must be split at the C-flange and the
system components tested and repaired. Refer to the applicable Pratt & Whitney Engine Maintenance Manual.

* If the test equipment is not temperature compensated, perform the MANUAL TEMPERATURE COMPENSATION procedure
to determine the correct millivolt values.
