Title: To configure Ethernet switch to improve Substation Automation System
(SAS)Performance.
1. Ethernet manageable switch was configured as per IEC 61850 specifications to improve the
communication requirements of Substation
2. Different substation automation functions were carried out on hardware and software simulations to
study the dynamic characteristics of communication messages. such as protection functions, dynamic
interlocking, transformer autoreclosure etc.
3. Different Ethernet switch characteristics for SAS for efficient, reliable, and deterministic communication
were evaluated.
Softwares used: 1.OSTINATO, 2.WIRESHARK
Hardware: 1. Garretcom 6kl switch
  Major Project
Title: Mathematical modelling to determine end to end delay of switch Ethernet network.
 End to end delay of 400/200 kV Maharani-bagh GIS substation were calculated and modelled
mathematically.
 OPNET simulation of Maharani-bagh substation was done.
 Various delay in the network were analysed
 Delay of GOOSE messages of Inter & Intrabay were calculated mathematically and with OPNET
simulation.

Training
2014: Four weeks summer internship in NTPC badarpur New Delhi.

Achievements:
Published a paper in national conference ETEEE.
Title of paper “Implementation of switched Ethernet network for improving substation automation
performance”.
