Journal 2: Motivation

Your level of success in college is often determined by your level of motivation. Describe your
motivation level (1=low and 5=high) in each of your courses this semester. What motivates you in each
course? What are some of the causes of motivation problems in the classes that you are least
motivated in? How can you increase your motivation levels in these courses?

My motivation level for my classes are a 4.5 because I know what I have been through and I
know the limits I can go to achieve mountains if I push myself hard enough. I motivate myself in
each class because I know without the people that help me get to where I am and without me
believing in myself I wouldn’t be here today doing what I’m doing to achieve goals in life. I
have 4 classes ENG 3059 Rhetoric and Professional writing, ENG lit of Holocaust, MLTI 1023
Success Seminar and INTR to psychology 1001. And in every class, it’s always motivation.

What motivates me in each course is knowing that I’m waking up everyday going to these
classes and I know I have the support I need to keep pushing. What motivates me is knowing
everything I have been through, I’m still fighting and trying to be the best I can be for me,
pushing myself every day to stay focused and achieve my dream of becoming a pediatrician and
a BSN. What motivates me in my classes are knowing its others trying to achieve their goals as
well when I look around in my classes its people just like me wanting to be better and know that
their classes are what is going to get them there and support.

I don’t have problems with any motivation in my classes because I know I can achieve them
because next semester I want to become a double major and I know my classes are going to be a
lot harder so why not build my motivation up now so when I do become a double major I have
the confidence and to skills to conquer any and everything.
