Print out sheets MIP M1 to MIP M15 on transparent adhesive film (Laser
printer required as ink jet doesn't print on this type of film). These are
already scaled or have dimensions printed on them so print out as they are.
Stick the sheets onto a large 6mm acrylic sheet (or mdf) line up the sheets
using the red and blue lines, and cut out the holes as marked. Blue holes
are drilled 3.5mm and tapped with m4 thread for fixing of light
plates/bezels or cosmetic crosshead screws.
Print out sheets MIP frame1 to MIP frame 11-10 again on transparent
adhesive sheet and use these to cut out the instrument bezels/light plates
6mm thick mdf or acrylic. Again already scaled so print out as they are.
These can be then be lined up with the holes cut in the large MIP plate.
If you are using a monitor for the EICAS in the center you may need to
move some of the instruments over to accommodate whatever size
monitor you use.
Cut out the support structure panels from 12mm mdf as per the drawings
Panel A to Panel V, W, X. These are NOT scaled drawings but have the
dimensions printed on them all in mm.
Cut out the glareshield panels A to H and fix together. G and H are full
scale the rest have dimensions. G and H are mirror images.
Using the pictures as a guide fix all the panels together. I used small
20x20mm softwood blocks in the corners to give a good base for
woodscrews to hold the panels together with some PVA glue.
The shaped cut-out in Panels A and B is to allow a long shaped piece of
wood ( full width of MIP) to be fitted to support the MIP plate and also
the monitors.
