Learning Focus: Eco Muslim Environment


Rational: Emergent Curriculum: Tamariki and their families/whanau were talking how tamariki/children can look
after themselves according to Muslim way; cleaning “Taharah” tamariki wondered where the zamzam water
disappeared that Abdul-Mottalib had to dig the lost well of ZamZam.

Te Whāriki Link: Strand 1: Wellbeing / Mana atua–The Learners will develop sense of responsibility for the
wellbeing for their own and that of others. Tamariki will develop the respect for tikanga and rules about not harming
others and the environments and an understanding of the reasons for such rules and will be connecting with Islamic
teaching.

Abubarker’s mum mentioned about taharah and
asked us to use water-can to wash himself after
using toilet.

Saloomi dad mention how birds and everything


in the world created by Allah praise Him and
shared his story.
