Vestimenta: Actualmente el vestuario más común es el traje tradicional que usan hombres y
mujeres en las fiestas patrias, además de disfraces llamativos de aves y algunas prendas al
descubierto como trajes de baño.
Comida Típica: “El valdiviano” es uno de los platos más solicitado por toda la comunidad, por
su exquisitez de verduras y su rica carne de vacuno acompañada de algunas papas y un poco
de sopa, parecido a la típica cazuela que se prepara en varios países de Latinoamérica.
Música: Orquestas, sinfónicas, bandas, solistas, entre otras, son las voces que comúnmente
se escuchan en pleno puerto de Valdivia, deleitando los oídos de los visitantes con géneros
clásicos y modernos y obviamente melodías al ritmo de nuestro baile nacional: La Cueca.
Valdivian Week:
The Valdivian week is an activity held in honor of the anniversary of the city of Valdivia. It is
framed in the summer activities of this city.
History: It begins just on the date of foundation of Valdivia, on February 9, 1552, with a civic-
military demonstration, followed by sports, cultural activities, among others.
Clothing: Currently the most common wardrobe is the traditional costume worn by men and
women in national holidays, as well as striking costumes of birds and some clothing exposed
as swimwear.
Typical food: "Valdiviano" is one of the most popular dishes for the whole community, for its
exquisite vegetables and rich beef accompanied by some potatoes and a bit of soup, similar to
the typical casserole prepared in several Latin American countries.
Music: Orchestras, symphonies, bands, soloists, among others, are the voices that are
commonly heard in the port of Valdivia, delighting the ears of visitors with classical and modern
genres and obviously melodies to the rhythm of our national dance: La Cueca.
