Modify Cell PDCCH Algorithm

Configuration (MOD CELLPDCCHALGO)

Network Element: BTS3900, BTS3900 LTE

Function
Use this command to modify the configuration of the PDCCH resource allocation algorithm.

Note
This is a high-risk MML command. Pay attention to the following precautions before running
this command:

Ensure that the antenna weight is valid. Otherwise, it will cause a cell activation failure during
the modification of the SplitBeamPdcchSdmaSw::MASSIVE_MIMO_PDCCH_SDMA_SW
option.

Parameters
ID Name Description
LocalCellId Local cell ID Meaning: Indicates the Local ID of the cell. It uniquely
identifies a cell within a BS. This parameter applies
only to LTE FDD and LTE TDD.

GUI Value Range: 0~255

Unit: None

Actual Value Range: 0~255

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: None

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: N/A

Impact on Radio Network Performance: None

Applicable Mode: L
ComSigCongregLv SignalCongreg Meaning: Indicates the CCE aggregation level for
ateLevel common control signaling. If the
HOSuccRateBoostOptSwitch option of the
HoSignalingOptSwitch parameter is selected, the
PDCCH CCE aggregation level is changed to level 8
when an RAR message for a handover is retransmitted.
This parameter applies only to LTE FDD and LTE
TDD.

GUI Value Range: CONGREG_LV4,

CONGREG_LV8

Unit: None

Actual Value Range: CONGREG_LV4,

CONGREG_LV8

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: CONGREG_LV4

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no

impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Radio Network Performance: A smaller

value results in lower PDCCH demodulation
performance, but it leads to a larger number of UEs that
can be scheduled and a lower probability of CCE
allocation congestion for common control signaling. A
larger value leads to the opposite effects.

Applicable Mode: L
CceRatioAdjSwitch Cce Ratio Meaning: Indicates the CCE ratio adjustment switch for
Adjust Switch the PDCCH. If this switch is turned on, the resource
allocation algorithm of the PDCCH dynamically adjusts
the UL and DL CCE ratios within each transmission
time interval (TTI) based on CCE usages in UL and
DL. If this switch is turned off, the UL and DL CCE
ratios are not dynamically adjusted. This parameter
applies only to LTE FDD and LTE TDD.

GUI Value Range: OFF(Off), ON(On)

Unit: None

Actual Value Range: OFF, ON

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: ON(On)

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no

impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Radio Network Performance: If this switch is

turned off, the throughput decreases when the uplink
and downlink loads are not balanced.

If this switch is turned on, the adjusted CCE ratios meet

uplink and downlink service requirements, and
therefore user experience improves.

Applicable Mode: L
SfnPdcchDcsThd SFN Pdcch Meaning: Indicates the threshold of isolation for
DCS determining whether to enable PDCCH selective
Threshold transmission in adaptive SFN/SDMA scenarios. For a
UE, if the ratio of the RSRP of signals collaboratively
received from RRUs providing strong signals to that
from RRUs providing weak signals is greater than or
equal to this threshold, the eNodeB does not allocate
power to RRUs providing weak signals. This parameter
applies only to LTE TDD.

GUI Value Range: 1~100

Unit: 0.5dB

Actual Value Range: 1~50

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: 40

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no
impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Radio Network Performance: Indicates the

threshold of isolation for deciding whether to enable
PDCCH selective transmission in adaptive SFN/SDMA
scenarios. A larger value of this parameter leads to
more interference among SFN cells but higher PDCCH
demodulation reliability. A smaller value of this
parameter leads to less interference among SFN cells
but low PDCCH demodulation reliability.

A proper value of this parameter balances the PDCCH

interference among SFN cells and the PDCCH
demodulation reliability, and therefore improves the
PDCCH coverage and capacity in SFN cells.

Applicable Mode: L
InitPdcchSymNum PDCCH Initial Meaning: Indicates the number of OFDM symbols
Symbol initially occupied by the PDCCH. If the switch for
Number dynamic adjustment of the number of OFDM symbols
occupied by the PDCCH is turned off, this parameter
indicates the number of OFDM symbols that are always
occupied by the PDCCH. For LTE TDD cells, this
parameter indicates the number of OFDM symbols
initially occupied by PDCCH where only the downlink
scheduling and controlling information is transmitted in
downlink subframes. If the switch for dynamic
adjustment of the number of OFDM symbols occupied
by the PDCCH is turned on and the bandwidth is 1.4
MHz or 3 MHz, the PDCCH occupies 4 or 3 OFDM
symbols, respectively, and this parameter is invalid. If
the switch is turned on and the bandwidth is 5 MHz, 10
MHz, 15 MHz, or 20 MHz, the eNodeB adjusts the
number of OFDM symbols in the range of 1, 2, and 3
when this parameter is set to the default value 1, or in
the range of 2 and 3 when this parameter is set to 2 or 3.
For LTE TDD cells, if the switch is turned on and the
bandwidth is 5 MHz, the eNodeB adjusts the number of
OFDM symbols in the range of 2 and 3 by default, and
this parameter is invalid. If the EMTC_SWITCH option
of the EmtcAlgoSwitch parameter in a CellEmtcAlgo
MO is selected and the value of this parameter is
changed, the value of the startSymbolBR IE is changed,
and eMTC UEs that already accessed the cell will be
proactively released. This parameter applies only to
LTE FDD and LTE TDD.

GUI Value Range: 1~4

Unit: None

Actual Value Range: 1~4

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: If the PdcchSymNumSwitch

parameter is set to ON(On) or
ECFIADAPTIONON(Enhanced CFI Adaption On),
this parameter does not take effect for the bandwidths
of 1.4 MHz and 3 MHz, and the recommended
parameter value is 1 for the bandwidths larger than 5
MHz. If the PdcchSymNumSwitch parameter is set to
OFF(Off), the recommended value for the bandwidth of
1.4 MHz is 4 and for other bandwidths is 3. In addition,
if the PdcchSymNumSwitch parameter is set to
OFF(Off) for a small-bandwidth cell, PDCCH
resources may be insufficient due to the smaller number
of occupied OFDM symbols, and accordingly UEs
cannot access the cell. In this scenario, the minimum
recommended value for the bandwidth of 1.4 MHz is 3
and for the bandwidths of 3 MHz, 5 MHz, and 10 MHz
is 2.

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no

impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Radio Network Performance: A small value

of this parameter increases the possibility that the cell
supports dynamic adjustment on the number of OFDM
symbols occupied by the PDCCH and increases the
downlink throughput in unlimited CCE scenarios.
However, the low PDCCH capacity may decrease the
downlink throughput in limited CCE scenarios. A large
value of this parameter decreases the possibility that the
cell supports dynamic adjustment on the number of
OFDM symbols occupied by the PDCCH. In addition,
the high PDCCH capacity may decrease the downlink
throughput.

Applicable Mode: L
VirtualLoadPro PDCCH Meaning: Indicates the percentage of the number of
Virtual virtually loaded PDCCH CCEs when the PDCCH
Loading power control switch is turned off, or indicates the
Proportion percentage of the power of virtually loaded PDCCH
CCEs when the PDCCH power control switch is turned
on. This parameter is used to analyze the impact of the
parameter values on PDCCH demodulation
performance and provide reference to intra-frequency
networking in LTE. This parameter applies only to LTE
FDD and LTE TDD.

GUI Value Range: 0~100

Unit: %

Actual Value Range: 0~100

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: 0

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no

impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Radio Network Performance: A larger value

results in higher interference to the PDCCH from
neighboring cells. A smaller value leads to lower
interference.

Applicable Mode: L
PdcchInitialCceAdju PDCCH Initial Meaning: Indicates the PDCCH initial aggregation
stValue Cce level adjustment. This parameter applies only to LTE
Adjustment FDD.
Value
GUI Value Range: -10~5

Unit: None
Actual Value Range: -10~5

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: 0 for heavily loaded networks

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no

impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Radio Network Performance: A smaller

parameter value leads to a higher PDCCH aggregation
level, better coverage performance, and smaller
capacity. A larger parameter value results in the
opposite effects.

Applicable Mode: L
PdcchSymNumSwit PDCCH Meaning: Indicates whether to enable dynamic
ch Symbol adjustment on the number of orthogonal frequency
Number division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols occupied by
Adjust Switch the physical downlink control channel (PDCCH). If this
parameter is set to OFF(Off), the number of OFDM
symbols occupied by the PDCCH is fixed and cannot
be dynamically adjusted. If this parameter is set to
ON(On), the number of OFDM symbols occupied by
the PDCCH is dynamically adjusted based on the
required number of PDCCH control channel elements
(CCEs). The OFDM symbol adjustment range can be
determined by referring to the MML reference of the
InitPdcchSymNum parameter. If this parameter is set to
ECFIADAPTIONON(Enhanced CFI Adaption On), the
number of OFDM symbols occupied by the PDCCH is
dynamically adjusted based on the cell downlink
throughput, and the adjustment performance is the best
among the three methods. The OFDM symbol
adjustment range can be determined by referring to the
MML reference of the InitPdcchSymNum parameter. If
the EMTC_SWITCH option of the EmtcAlgoSwitch
parameter in a CellEmtcAlgo MO is selected and the
value of this parameter is changed, the value of the
startSymbolBR IE is changed, and eMTC UEs that
already accessed the cell will be proactively released.
This parameter applies only to LTE FDD and LTE
TDD.

GUI Value Range: OFF(Off), ON(On),

ECFIADAPTIONON(Enhanced CFI Adaption On)

Unit: None

Actual Value Range: OFF, ON, ECFIADAPTIONON

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: ECFIADAPTIONON(Enhanced

CFI Adaption On)

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no

impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Radio Network Performance: If this

parameter is set to OFF, the number of OFDM symbols
occupied by the PDCCH is fixed and cannot be
dynamically adjusted. If this parameter is set to ON, the
number of OFDM symbols occupied by the PDCCH is
dynamically adjusted based on the number of required
CCEs, and therefore cell downlink throughput
increases. If this parameter is set to
ECFIADAPTIONON, the dynamic adjustment of the
number of OFDM symbols occupied by the PDCCH
considers cell downlink throughput, and therefore can
reach higher throughput when downlink frequency
selective scheduling is enabled.

Applicable Mode: L
CceUseRatio CCE use ratio Meaning: Indicates the upper limit of the CCE usage
within each transmission time interval (TTI). When the
PdcchSymNumSwitch parameter in the CellPdcchAlgo
MO is set to ON(On), the parameter setting is invalid,
that is, the CCE usage cannot be limited within each
TTI. This parameter applies only to LTE TDD.

GUI Value Range: 1~100

Unit: %

Actual Value Range: 1~100

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: If the value of this parameter is

relatively small, the PDCCH has insufficient CCE
resources, which will affect the access success rate of
cell edge UEs (CEUs), handover success rate, CCE
assignment success rate for DL scheduling, and
especially that for UL scheduling. Therefore, at least 24
available CCEs are required within each TTI. The
lower limits for the CCE usage within each TTI are
described as follows for cells with different
configurations(If the actual CCE usage within each TTI
is less than the specified lower limits for the CCE usage
within each TTI, access success rate of CEUs and
handover success rate are affected):

(1) If the cell bandwidth and the number of PDCCH

symbols are 10 MHz and 1, respectively, the lower
limit is 100 when the eNodeB uses either two or four
physical antenna ports;

(2) If the cell bandwidth and the number of PDCCH

symbols are 10 MHz and 2, respectively, the lower
limit is 100 when the eNodeB uses either two or four
physical antenna ports;

(3) If the cell bandwidth and the number of PDCCH

symbols are 10 MHz and 3, respectively, the lower
limit is 65 when the eNodeB uses four physical antenna
ports and is 58 when the eNodeB uses two physical
antenna ports;

(4) If the cell bandwidth and the number of PDCCH

symbols are 15 MHz and 1, respectively, the lower
limit is 100 when the eNodeB uses either two or four
physical antenna ports;

(5) If the cell bandwidth and the number of PDCCH

symbols are 15 MHz and 2, respectively, the lower
limit is 80 when the eNodeB uses four physical antenna
ports and is 63 when the eNodeB uses two physical
antenna ports;

(6) If the cell bandwidth and the number of PDCCH

symbols are 15 MHz and 3, respectively, the lower
limit is 44 when the eNodeB uses four physical antenna
ports and is 38 when the eNodeB uses two physical
antenna ports;

(7) If the cell bandwidth and the number of PDCCH

symbols are 20 MHz and 1, respectively, the lower
limit is 100 when the eNodeB uses either two or four
physical antenna ports;

(8) If the cell bandwidth and the number of PDCCH

symbols are 20 MHz and 2, respectively, the lower
limit is 60 when the eNodeB uses four physical antenna
ports and is 50 when the eNodeB uses two physical
antenna ports;

(9) If the cell bandwidth and the number of PDCCH

symbols are 20 MHz and 3, respectively, the lower
limit is 32 when the eNodeB uses four physical antenna
ports and is 28 when the eNodeB uses two physical
antenna ports;

If multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO) and multi-user

beamforming (MUBF) are enabled, you are advised not
to apply restrictions on the CCE usage within each TTI.
The purpose is to ensure successful CCE assignment
for paired UEs and maintain the MU-MIMO and
MUBF performance.

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no

impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Radio Network Performance: If dynamic

adjustment on the number of PDCCH OFDM symbols
is disabled and this parameter is set too small, the
number of available CCEs is small, resulting in low
access and handover success rates and a low CCE
assignment success rate for uplink and downlink
scheduling per TTI for cell edge users (CEUs).
If the adjustment is disabled and this parameter is set
too large, CCE waste occurs when the load is low.

Applicable Mode: L
PdcchAggLvlCLAdj PDCCH Meaning: Indicates the switch used to enable or disable
ustSwitch Aggregation closed-loop adjustment to the PDCCH aggregation
Level CL level. If this switch is turned on, PDCCH aggregation
Switch level is adjusted based on the block error rate (BLER)
of the PDCCH. If this switch is turned off, PDCCH
aggregation level is not adjusted based on the BLER of
the PDCCH. This parameter applies only to LTE FDD
and LTE TDD.

GUI Value Range: OFF(Off), ON(On)

Unit: None

Actual Value Range: OFF, ON

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: ON(On)

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no

impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Radio Network Performance: If this switch is

turned on, the BLER converges on the target value and
the uplink and downlink throughput increases.

If this switch is turned off, the PDCCH demodulation

performance deteriorates and the uplink and downlink
throughput decreases.

Applicable Mode: L
DPDVirtualLoadSwi DPD Virtual Meaning: Indicates whether to enable virtual loading

Impact on Radio Network Performance: This parameter

is used to optimize the method of creating a DPD
model, meet the requirement for DPD dynamic
performance, reduce scenario restrictions, and mitigate
the interference (which is caused by shortened guard
intervals) to other base stations.

Applicable Mode: L
DPDVirtualLoadTy DPD Virtual Meaning: Indicates the virtual loading type for digital
pe Load Type predistortion (DPD). This parameter applies only to
LTE TDD.

GUI Value Range: AVERAGE(AVERAGE),

MINUS_3DB_FIXED, MINUS_6DB_FIXED

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: AVERAGE(AVERAGE)

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no

Impact on Radio Network Performance: This parameter

is used to provide multiple data choices for creating a
DPD model and help reduce the adjacent channel
power ratio (ACPR) of an RF channel.

Applicable Mode: L
AggLvlSelStrageFor Aggregation Meaning: Indicates the policy for control channel
DualCW Level Strategy element (CCE) aggregation level selection of the
for Dual physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) in dual-
Codewords codeword scenarios. In capacity-based CCE
aggregation level selection of the PDCCH, set this
parameter to the default value
STRATEGYBASEDONCAPACITY. In this situation,
the average CCE aggregation level of the PDCCH in
dual-codeword scenarios decreases, and more UEs can
be supported on the PDCCH. In coverage-based CCE
aggregation level selection of the PDCCH, set this
parameter to STRATEGYBASEDONCOVERAGE. In
this situation, both the average CCE aggregation level
of the PDCCH in dual-codeword scenarios and cell
coverage performance increase. This parameter applies
only to LTE FDD.

GUI Value Range:

STRATEGYBASEDONCOVERAGE

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value:
STRATEGYBASEDONCAPACITY(Capacity-based
Selection Strategy)

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no

impact on the UE in idle mode)
Impact on Radio Network Performance: In the scenario
of dual codewords, if this parameter is set to
STRATEGYBASEDONCAPACITY, the average CCE
aggregation level of the PDCCH decreases, and more
UEs can be supported in the PDCCH, but the PDCCH
block error rate (BLER) of severe noise-afflicted UEs
increases. In this situation, the PDCCH BLER cannot
converge on the target value even when closed-loop
adjustment on the CCE aggregation level of the
PDCCH is enabled. If this parameter is set to
STRATEGYBASEDONCOVERAGE, both the
average CCE aggregation level of the PDCCH and the
demodulation performance in the PDCCH increase, but
fewer UEs can be supported in the PDCCH.

Applicable Mode: L
PdcchCapacityImpro PDCCH Meaning: Indicates whether to enable optimization on
veSwitch Capacity PDCCH capacity expansion. For LTE FDD networks, if
Improve this parameter is set to ON(On), (1) the initial value for
Switch closed-loop adjustment on PDCCH aggregation level
applies only to SRBs; (2) if a UE fails to be allocated
with CCEs, the eNodeB reallocates CCEs to the UE by
increasing the PDCCH power and decreasing the
PDCCH aggregation level for the UE. If this parameter
is set to OFF(Off), (1) the initial value for closed-loop
adjustment on PDCCH aggregation level applies to
both SRBs and DRBs; (2) if a UE fails to be allocated
with CCEs, the eNodeB does not reallocate CCEs to the
UE by increasing the PDCCH power and decreasing the
PDCCH aggregation level for the UE. For LTE TDD
networks, if this parameter is set to ON(On), the
eNodeB reallocates CCEs to a UE, if the UE fails to be
allocated with CCEs, by increasing the PDCCH
transmit power and decreasing the PDCCH aggregation
level for the UE. If this parameter is set to OFF(Off),
the eNodeB does not reallocate CCEs to a UE, if the
UE fails to be allocated with CCEs, by increasing the
PDCCH power and decreasing the PDCCH aggregation
level for the UE. This parameter applies only to LTE
FDD and LTE TDD.

Unit: None
Actual Value Range: OFF, ON

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: ON(On)

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no

impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Radio Network Performance: When this

parameter is set to ON in an FDD network, the initial
value for closed-loop adjustment on PDCCH
aggregation level decreases, the PDCCH capacity and
CCE allocation success rate increase, and therefore cell
throughput also increases. When this parameter is set to
ON in a TDD network, the CCE allocation success rate
increases, and therefore cell throughput also increases.

Applicable Mode: L
PdcchMaxCodeRate PDCCH Max Meaning: Indicates the maximum coding rate on the
Code Rate PDCCH. The coding rate on the PDCCH cannot exceed
this parameter value. Otherwise the PDCCH
aggregation level must be increase. This parameter
applies only to LTE FDD and LTE TDD.

GUI Value Range: 75~120

Unit: None

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: 75

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no

impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Radio Network Performance: If this

parameter is set to a smaller value, the maximum
coding rate on the PDCCH is smaller, and the PDCCH
aggregation level will be higher. In this case, the
PDCCH coverage is better, but the system capacity is
smaller. A larger value of this parameter results in the
opposite effects.

Applicable Mode: L
ULDLPdcchSymNu Uplink and Meaning: Indicates the number of OFDM symbols
m Downlink initially occupied by the PDCCH where the downlink
PDCCH subframe indicating the uplink and downlink
Symbols scheduling and controlling information is transmitted. If
Configuration the PDCCH Symbol Number Adjust Switch parameter
is set to OFF, this parameter indicates the number of
OFDM symbols occupied by the PDCCH where the
downlink subframe indicating the uplink and downlink
scheduling and controlling information is transmitted.
For downlink subframes indicating both uplink and
downlink scheduling and controlling information, if the
PDCCH Symbol Number Adjust Switch parameter is
set to ON, the number of OFDM symbols occupied by
the PDCCH is as follows: On the bandwidth of 5 MHz,
the PDCCH occupies 2 or 3 OFDM symbols. (In this
case, the configuration of this parameter is invalid.) On
the bandwidth of 10 MHz, 15 MHz, or 20 MHz, the
PDCCH occupies 1, 2, or 3 OFDM symbols when this
parameter is set to 1, and the PDCCH occupies 2 or 3
OFDM symbols when this parameter is set to 2 or 3. If
the EMTC_SWITCH option of the EmtcAlgoSwitch
parameter in a CellEmtcAlgo MO is selected and the
value of this parameter is changed, the value of the
startSymbolBR IE is changed, and eMTC UEs that
already accessed the cell will be proactively released.
This parameter applies only to LTE TDD.When the
PhichDuration parameter in the PHICHCfg MO is set
to EXTENDED and the cell bandwidth is not 1.4 MHz,
this parameter must be set to 3(3) according to 3GPP
specifications. Therefore, value 3(3) takes effect
automatically even if this parameter is set to another
value.

GUI Value Range: 1(1), 2(2), 3(3)

Unit: None

Actual Value Range: 1, 2, 3

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: If the PDCCH Symbol Number

Adjust Switch parameter is set to OFF, you are advised
to set this parameter to 3.

If the PDCCH Symbol Number Adjust Switch

parameter is set to ON, you are advised to set this
parameter to 1.

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no

impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Radio Network Performance: For downlink

subframes in which both uplink and downlink
scheduling and controlling information is transmitted, a
small value of this parameter increases the possibility
that the cell supports dynamic adjustment on the
number of OFDM symbols occupied by the PDCCH
and increases the downlink throughput in unlimited
CCE scenarios. However, the low PDCCH capacity
may decrease the downlink throughput in limited CCE
scenarios. A large value of this parameter decreases the
possibility that the cell supports dynamic adjustment on
the number of OFDM symbols occupied by the
PDCCH. In addition, the high PDCCH capacity may
decrease the downlink throughput.

Applicable Mode: L
PDCCHAggLvlAda The Strategy Meaning: Indicates the adaptive strategy of the PDCCH
ptStrage Of PDCCH aggregation level. The
Aggregation STRATEGYBASEDONCOVERAGE check box is
Level selected for this parameter by default. In this case, a
Adaptation higher aggregation level is applied, and therefore the
cell that the control channel serves has better coverage.
However, the number of scheduling UEs carried by the
control channel decreases. If the
STRATEGYBASEDONCAPACITY check box is
selected, a lower aggregation level is applied, and the
control channel carries more scheduling UEs. This
parameter applies only to LTE TDD.

selected, the PDCCH aggregation level rises and the
demodulation performance is improved, while the
number of scheduling UEs supported by the PDCCH
decreases. If the STRATEGYBASEDONCAPACITY
check box is selected, the PDCCH aggregation level is
decreased and more scheduling UEs can be supported
by the PDCCH. However, some severely interfered
UEs may have more PDCCH bit errors.

Applicable Mode: L
HysForCfiBasedPre Hysteresis for Meaning: Indicates the hysteresis of control format
Sch CFI increase indicator (CFI) number increase caused by uplink
based on preallocation failures when the PdcchSymNumSwitch
PreSch parameter is set to ECFIADAPTIONON. If the
HysForCfiBasedPreSch parameter is set to 0,
preallocation failures do not trigger CFI number
increase. This parameter applies only to LTE FDD and
LTE TDD.

Unit: None

Actual Value Range: 0~1

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: 1

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no

impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Radio Network Performance: Setting this

parameter to 1 results in a higher probability of
successful control channel element (CCE) allocation
during preallocation, more UEs that are selected in
preallocation, a shorter delay of both uplink and
downlink scheduling, but a larger increase in the
downlink CFI number. As a result, the MCS index
decreases in downlink scheduling and downlink
throughput decreases when the downlink traffic is
heavy. Setting this parameter to 0 results in the opposite
effects.

Applicable Mode: L
SfnPdcchSdmaThd SFN PDCCH Meaning: Indicates the threshold of isolation for
SDMA determining whether to enable PDCCH SDMA in
Threshold adaptive SFN/SDMA scenarios. For a UE, if the ratio
between the RSRP of RRUs with strong signals and
that of RRUs with weak signals in an SFN cell is equal
to or greater than the value of this parameter, the UE
only use resources of RRUs with strong signals while
RRUs with weak signals can be reused by other UEs.
This parameter applies only to LTE FDD and LTE
TDD.

Impact on Radio Network Performance: Indicates the

threshold of isolation for determining whether to enable
PDCCH SDMA in adaptive SFN/SDMA scenarios. If
this parameter is set to a large value, the PDCCH
average aggregation level is low and the PDCCH
spatial multiplexing percentage is also low.

If this parameter is set to a small value, the PDCCH

average aggregation level is high and the PDCCH
spatial multiplexing percentage is also high.

This parameter must be set properly to guarantee a

balance between PDCCH overhead and RRU resource
reuse percentage so that the PDCCH capacity can be
improved in SFN cells.

Impact on Radio Network Performance:

ReserveCommonCCESwitch: If this switch is on, CCE
resources in common search space are reserved for the
uplink during CCE resource allocation, which increases
the CCE allocation success rate in the uplink when the
CCE resources in the uplink are insufficient. Therefore,
the access success rate, network capacity for VoIP
services, and uplink throughput increase, but the
scheduling delay for some UEs in the downlink
prolongs. If this switch is off, CCE resource allocation
in the uplink is not affected.

Applicable Mode: L
CceMaxInitialRatio CCE Max Meaning: Indicates the maximum ratio of the uplink
Initial Ratio and downlink initial CCEs on the PDCCH. If this
parameter is set to 1_2, the maximum uplink-downlink
initial CCE ratio is 1:2. If this parameter is set to a
value greater than 1_2, the maximum uplink-downlink
initial CCE ratio can be dynamically changed to any
value ranging from 1_2 to the configured value based
on the load in the uplink and downlink. If subframe
configuration 2 is adopted for a TDD cell, it is
recommended that the SubframeSchDiffSwitch check
box be selected to ensure the PRB usage on subframes
3 and 8. This parameter applies only to LTE FDD and
LTE TDD.

GUI Value Range: 1_2(1:2), 1_1(1:1), 2_1(2:1),

3_1(3:1), 4_1(4:1), 5_1(5:1), 6_1(6:1), 7_1(7:1),
8_1(8:1), 9_1(9:1), 10_1(10:1)

Unit: None
Actual Value Range: 1_2, 1_1, 2_1, 3_1, 4_1, 5_1, 6_1,
7_1, 8_1, 9_1, 10_1

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: 1_2(1:2)

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no

impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Radio Network Performance: If this

parameter is set to 1_2, the uplink service experience is
poor when the uplink load is heavy and the downlink
load is light.

If this parameter is set to a value greater than 1_2, the

uplink service experience improves but the PRB usage
of some subframes slightly decreases when the uplink
load is heavy and the downlink load is light.

Applicable Mode: L
PdcchPowerEnhance PDCCH Meaning: Indicates whether to enable enhanced
dSwitch Power PDCCH power control. If this switch is turned on, the
Enhanced eNodeB selects appropriate PDCCH transmit power
Switch based on channel quality to increase PDCCH capacity.
This parameter applies only to LTE FDD and LTE
TDD massive MIMO cells for which the policy of
selecting the aggregation level based on coverage is
adopted.

GUI Value Range: OFF(Off), ON(On)

Unit: None

Actual Value Range: OFF, ON

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: OFF(Off)

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no
impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Radio Network Performance: If this switch is

turned on, the eNodeB selects a lower aggregation level
and increases the transmit power to ensure the PDCCH
demodulation performance, allow the PDCCH to
support more UEs, and increase the uplink and
downlink throughput.

If this switch is turned off, the eNodeB selects a higher

aggregation level and the operator needs to configure
the transmit power manually. This results in the
opposite effects.

Applicable Mode: L
PdcchBlerTarget PDCCH Meaning: Indicates the target BLER in PDCCH link
BLER Target adaptation. The PDCCH BLER must converge on this
target BLER. This parameter applies only to LTE FDD
and LTE TDD.

GUI Value Range: 0~1000

Unit: None

Actual Value Range: 0~1, step:0.001

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: For FDD: 15. Do not change this

value unless necessary. For TDD: 5; 15 if the PDCCH
is heavily loaded

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: N/A

Impact on Radio Network Performance: A smaller

value of this parameter results in a lower PDCCH
BLER. A larger value of this parameter results in the
opposite effect. A high BLER reduces uplink and
downlink throughput. A low BLER increases PDCCH
resource consumption, reducing the system capacity
and number of UEs that can be scheduled.
Applicable Mode: L
HLNetAccSigAggL HL Net Access Meaning: Indicates whether to enable enhanced
vlSelEnhSw Signal aggregation level selection of access signaling on high
Aggregation load networks. If this parameter is set to ON(On), the
Lvl Select eNodeB accurately estimates the channel conditions
Enhance when a UE accesses a high load network where
Switch PDCCH resources are insufficient, and selects a
PDCCH aggregation level for the UE that better
matches the UE's actual signal quality. It is
recommended that this parameter be set to ON(On) and
the PuschDtxSchOptSwitch option of the UlSchSwitch
parameter in the CellAlgoSwitch MO be selected. If
this parameter is set to OFF(Off), the eNodeB selects a
high aggregation level for all access signaling to ensure
the PDCCH reliability. This parameter applies only to
LTE FDD and LTE TDD.

GUI Value Range: OFF(Off), ON(On)

Unit: None

Actual Value Range: OFF, ON

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: OFF(Off)

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no

impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Radio Network Performance: If this

parameter is set to ON, the selected PDCCH
aggregation level better matches the actual signal
quality of the UE that accesses the high load network
where PDCCH resources are insufficient. This prevents
PDCCH resource exhaustion and improves the PDCCH
capacity and cell throughput on high load networks.
However, PDCCH bit errors may increase for UEs
experiencing strong interference, which increases the
access delay of these UEs and may reduce the E-RAB
setup success rate.
If this parameter is set to OFF, the high aggregation
level selected for the access signaling ensures the
PDCCH reliability. However, PDCCH resources may
be insufficient on high load networks, which reduces
the number of scheduled UEs supported by the PDCCH
and the cell throughput.

Applicable Mode: L
EpdcchAlgoSwitch EPDCCH Meaning: Indicates whether to enable algorithms

insufficient and RB resources are not used up. In this
way, both uplink and downlink RB usages increase. If
this option is deselected, the eNodeB does not
configure EPDCCH resources for newly accessed UEs
when the PDCCH resources are insufficient and RB
resources are not used up. As a result, both uplink and
downlink RBs cannot be fully utilized.

Applicable Mode: L
CceThdtoEnableEpd CCE Usage Meaning: Indicates the CCE usage threshold for

cannot be fully utilized, and the network throughput
decreases.

A smaller value of this parameter results in a higher

probability of configuring the EPDCCH, which wastes
RB resources and decreases the network throughput.

Applicable Mode: L
RbThdtoEnableEpdc RB Usage Meaning: Indicates the downlink RB usage threshold
ch Threshold To for configuring EPDCCH. If the downlink RB usage is

Impact on Radio Network Performance: A larger value

of this parameter results in a higher probability of
configuring the EPDCCH, fewer available RBs after
the EPDCCH is configured, and a smaller downlink
throughput gain.

A smaller value of this parameter results in the opposite

effects.

Applicable Mode: L
CceThdtoDisableEp CCE Usage Meaning: Indicates the CCE usage threshold for

decreases.

A larger value of this parameter results in a higher

probability of disabling the EPDCCH, which wastes
RB resources and decreases the network throughput.

Applicable Mode: L
RbThdtoDisableEpd RB Usage Meaning: Indicates the downlink RB usage threshold

selection is disabled for MSG5. This option applies
only to LTE TDD.

GUI Value Range: MSG5Attempt(MSG5Attempt)

Unit: None

Actual Value Range: MSG5Attempt

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: 0

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no

impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Radio Network Performance: If the

MSG5Attempt option is selected, enhanced aggregation
level selection of access signaling is attempted on high
load networks where PDCCH resources are insufficient,
to reduce the CCE signaling overheads. The reduction
can improve the PDCCH capacity in high load
networks and increase the cell throughput. However,
PDCCH bit errors may increase for UEs experiencing
strong interference. As a result, the access delay of
these UEs may increase, and the E-RAB setup success
rate may decrease. If the MSG5Attempt option is
deselected, a high aggregation level is selected for
access signaling to ensure the PDCCH reliability.
However, PDCCH resources may be insufficient on
high load networks, which reduces the number of
scheduled UEs supported by the PDCCH and the cell
throughput.

Applicable Mode: L
EpdcchSfCfg EPDCCH Meaning: Indicates whether to configure the ePDCCH
Subframe in all downlink subframes or in only downlink
Configuration subframes dedicated to uplink or downlink grant. This
parameter takes effect only on LTE TDD cells that use

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value:
AllDlSfCfgEpdcch(AllDlSfCfgEpdcch)

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no

impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Radio Network Performance: If this

parameter is set to AllDlSfCfgEpdcch, the ePDCCH is
configured in all downlink subframes after the
ePDCCH is enabled. This configuration mode can
increase uplink or downlink PRB usage if the PRB
usage is low because PDCCH resources are insufficient
for carrying uplink or downlink grant.

If this parameter is set to UlDlGrantSfCfgEpdcch, the

ePDCCH is configured only in downlink subframes
dedicated to uplink or downlink grant after the
ePDCCH is enabled. This configuration mode can solve
the problem that PDCCH resources are insufficient for
carrying uplink grant and reduce PUCCH overhead.
However, this configuration mode cannot solve the
problem that PDCCH resources are insufficient for
carrying downlink grant in downlink subframes
dedicated to only downlink grant.

Applicable Mode: L
UlDlEcceInitialRati UL DL ECCE Meaning: Indicates whether to enable adaptive
oAdjSw Initial Ratio adjustment of the initial ratios of the uplink and

Switch If this parameter is set to ON(On), the initial ratios of
uplink and downlink eCCEs can be dynamically
adjusted in the range from 1 to
Max(CceMaxInitialRatio,1) based on the uplink and
downlink loads. If this parameter is set to OFF(Off), the
initial ratios of uplink and downlink eCCEs is fixed to
be Max(CceMaxInitialRatio,1). This parameter applies
only to LTE TDD cells.

GUI Value Range: OFF(Off), ON(On)

Unit: None

Actual Value Range: OFF, ON

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: OFF(Off)

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no

impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Radio Network Performance: If this

parameter is set to ON(On), the initial ratios of uplink
and downlink eCCEs are dynamically adjusted based
on the uplink and downlink eCCE allocation, to meet
uplink and downlink service requirements and ensure
the required user experience.

If this parameter is set to OFF(Off), the initial ratios of

uplink and downlink eCCEs are not dynamically
adjusted. In this case, the throughput may decrease if
allocated eCCEs in the uplink or downlink cannot meet
service requirements.
Applicable Mode: L

),
CAPACITY_BFOPT_ON(CAPACITY_BFOPT_ON)

Unit: None

Actual Value Range: CAPACITY_BFOPT_OFF,

CAPACITY_BFOPT_ON

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: If the PDCCH aggregation level

adaptation strategy is based on capacity, it is
recommended that this parameter be set to ON(On).

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no

impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Radio Network Performance: If this

parameter is set to ON(On), the PDCCH SINR is more
accurately calculated when the capacity-based PDCCH
aggregation level adaptation strategy is used in
beamforming mode, reducing missing detections of
UEs for downlink scheduling.

If this parameter is set to OFF(Off), the eNodeB is

more likely to miss detecting UEs with a smaller
beamforming gain when the capacity-based PDCCH
aggregation level adaptation strategy is used in
beamforming mode.

Applicable Mode: L
CCEThdEnableFlow Flow Control Meaning: Indicates the upper threshold of CCE usage.
Ctrl Enable CCE If the number of CCEs consumed by SRBs is larger
Threshold
than this threshold, the eNodeB triggers MSG3 flow
control. This parameter applies only to LTE TDD.

GUI Value Range: 0~100

Unit: %

Actual Value Range: 0~100

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: 65

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: N/A

Impact on Radio Network Performance: If this

parameter is set to a large value, the eNodeB is less
likely to trigger MSG3 flow control, increasing the
probability that a large proportion of CCEs are
consumed by SRBs. In this case, the impact on the
experience of online UEs is great. If this parameter is
set to a small value, the eNodeB is more likely to
trigger MSG3 flow control, lowering the probability
that a large proportion of CCEs are consumed by SRBs.
In this case, the impact on the experience of online UEs
is small, but the impact on the experience of UEs
accessing the network is great.

Applicable Mode: L
CCEThdDisableFlo Flow Control Meaning: Indicates the lower threshold of CCE usage.
wCtrl Disable CCE If the number of CCEs consumed by SRBs is smaller

Impact on Radio Network Performance: If this

parameter is set to a large value, the eNodeB is more
likely to cancel MSG3 flow control, increasing the
probability that a large proportion of CCEs are
consumed by SRBs. In this case, the impact on the
experience of online UEs is great. If this parameter is
set to a small value, the eNodeB is less likely to cancel
MSG3 flow control, lowering the probability that a
large proportion of CCEs are consumed by SRBs. In
this case, the impact on the experience of online UEs is
small, but the impact on the experience of UEs
accessing the network is great.

is set to OFF(Off), the eNodeB does not raise the
PDCCH power increase limit both in the uplink and
downlink subframes used to allocate CCEs when the
CceMaxInitialRatio parameter in the CellPdcchAlgo
MO is set to a large value. This parameter applies only
to LTE TDD.

GUI Value Range: OFF(Off), ON(On)

Unit: None

Actual Value Range: OFF, ON

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: OFF(Off)

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: N/A

Impact on Radio Network Performance: If this

parameter is set to ON(On), the PDCCH reliability
increases in the uplink and downlink subframes used to
allocate CCEs when the CceMaxInitialRatio parameter
in the CellPdcchAlgo is set to a large value. However,
the scheduling delay may increase. If this parameter is

locStrage Power strategy. When this parameter is set to NONE, spare
Allocation PDCCH power is not allocated. When this parameter is
Strategy set to WEAKCOVERAGEUSER, spare power of the
PDCCH with the current CFI is allocated to UEs with
weak coverage. When this parameter is set to
BIGPKTUSER, spare power of the PDCCH with the
current CFI is allocated to UEs with large-packet
transmission. This parameter applies only to LTE FDD
and LTE TDD.

GUI Value Range: NONE(NONE),

WEAKCOVERAGEUSER(WEAKCOVERAGEUSER

Unit: None

Actual Value Range: NONE,

WEAKCOVERAGEUSER, BIGPKTUSER

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: NONE(NONE)

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: N/A

Impact on Radio Network Performance: When this
parameter is set to NONE, network performance is not
affected. When this parameter is set to
WEAKCOVERAGEUSER, the PDCCH demodulation
performance of the UEs with weak coverage improves;
however, the interference to neighboring cells' PDCCH
increases. When this parameter is set to BIGPKTUSER,
the PDCCH demodulation performance of the UEs with
large-packet transmission improves; however, the
interference to neighboring cells' PDCCH increases.

Applicable Mode: L
VoltePdcchSinrOffs Volte PDCCH Meaning: Indicates the PDCCH SINR offset of voice
et SINR Offset UEs. This parameter is used to adjust the PDCCH
aggregation level and PDCCH power for such UEs. If
this parameter is set to 0, adjustment of the PDCCH

effect. It is recommended that this parameter be set to
30 for cells with few voice UEs to improve the
transmission reliability of the control channel occupied
by voice UEs. This parameter applies only to LTE
TDD.

GUI Value Range: 0~150

Unit: 0.1dB

Actual Value Range: 0~15

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: If CCEs are not restricted in the

uplink, set this parameter to 30 to improve the
transmission reliability of the control channel occupied
by voice UEs. If CCEs are restricted in the uplink, set
this parameter to 0 to shorten the scheduling delay of
voice UEs caused by limited control channel resources.

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: N/A

Impact on Radio Network Performance: If this

parameter is set to a large value, the PDCCH
aggregation level and the PDCCH power for voice UEs
increase. In this case, PDCCH resources are wasted, but
the PDCCH demodulation success rate is high. If this
parameter is set to a small value, the PDCCH
aggregation level and the PDCCH power for voice UEs
decrease. In this case, PDCCH resources are saved, but
the PDCCH demodulation success rate is low.

Applicable Mode: L

Impact on Radio Network Performance: When this

parameter is set to ON, a high PDCCH aggregation
level is selected if the PDCCH BLER caused due to no
responses from the UE is high.

Applicable Mode: L
PdcchOutLoopAdjB PDCCH Out Meaning: Indicates the baseline step used for outer-loop
aseStep Loop adjustment of the PDCCH. The selection of an
Adjustment appropriate step for the adjustment is dependent on this
Baseline Step baseline step. This parameter applies only to LTE FDD
and LTE TDD.

GUI Value Range: 0~10

Unit: 0.1dB

Actual Value Range: 0~1

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: 2

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no

impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Radio Network Performance: If this

parameter is set to a small value, DTX-based outer-loop
adjustment of the PDCCH is slow. As a result, the
aggregation level adjustment is slow and cannot
effectively adapt to drastic channel condition changes.

If this parameter is set to a large value, DTX-based

outer-loop adjustment of the PDCCH is fast. As a
result, the aggregation level adjustment is fast and can
quickly adapt to drastic channel condition changes.

It is recommended that this parameter be set to 5 if

uplink interference is not severe. In the case of severe
uplink interference, uplink non-DTX transmissions are
incorrectly decoded as DTX in most cases. In this
situation, setting this parameter to a non-default value
results in excessive aggregation level adjustment,
causing the capacity to decrease.

Applicable Mode: L
PdcchOutLoopAdjL PDCCH Out Meaning: For FDD: indicates the lower limit of the
owerLimit Loop adjustment amount for outer-loop adjustment of the
Adjustment PDCCH.
Value Lower
Thld For TDD: indicates the lower limit of the initial
adjustment amount for outer-loop adjustment of the
PDCCH. This parameter applies only to LTE FDD and
LTE TDD.

GUI Value Range: -20~0

Unit: dB

Actual Value Range: -20~0

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: The value -5 is recommended for

FDD.

The value -2 is recommended for TDD.

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no

impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Radio Network Performance: A smaller

value of this parameter results in a larger range for
DTX-based outer-loop adjustment of the PDCCH and
therefore looser restriction on aggregation level
selection, ensuring normal DTX-based PDCCH
aggregation level adjustment in special scenarios.

A larger value of this parameter results in a smaller

range for DTX-based outer-loop adjustment of the
PDCCH and therefore stricter restriction on aggregation
level adjustment, causing the failure to increase the
aggregation level in case of a larger number of DTX
transmissions in special scenarios.

In the case of severe uplink interference, uplink non-

DTX transmissions are incorrectly decoded as DTX in
most cases. In this situation, setting this parameter to a
non-default value results in excessive aggregation level
adjustment, causing the capacity to decrease.

Applicable Mode: L

Algorithm LTE TDD. CCE8PcOptSwitch: Indicates the basis of
Switch performing dynamic power control for UEs with a CCE
aggregation level of 8 when the CCE aggregation level
is adjusted based on capacity. If this option is selected,
the PDCCH power for UEs with a CCE aggregation
level of 8 is dynamically adjusted based on PDCCH
quality. This option applies only to LTE TDD.

GUI Value Range:

Impact on Radio Network Performance:

CCE8PcOptSwitch: If this option is selected, the cell
throughput increases when the PDCCH is restricted,
and the user-perceived rate in weak coverage scenarios
decreases. If this option is deselected, the eNodeB
selects a high CCE aggregation level for UEs in weak
coverage scenarios, consuming more PDCCH resources
but lowering the probability of missing detecting the
PDCCH in weak coverage scenarios.

Applicable Mode: L
SplitBeamPdcchSd PDCCH Split Meaning: Indicates the threshold of isolation for
maThd Beam SDMA deciding whether to perform SDMA for PDCCH
Threshold transmission in beam splitting scenarios. For a UE, if
the ratio of the RSRP of obtained from combined
beams providing strong signals to that of providing
weak signals in an SFN cell is greater than or equal to
this threshold when PDCCH data is transmitted in beam
splitting scenarios, the UE uses the resources allocated
to transmit beams providing strong signals, and
resources allocated for weak signals can be used by
other UEs. This parameter applies only to 64T64R LTE
TDD cells.

If this parameter is set to a small value, the average

PDCCH aggregation level is high, but the PDCCH
SDMA ratio is also high.

Set this parameter to an appropriate value so that the

resource usage for the PDCCH and SDMA ratio can be
balanced, increasing PDCCH capacity of the cell.

Applicable Mode: L
NackDtxRatioThd NACK and Meaning: Indicates the threshold of the proportion of
DTX Ratio the sum of NACKs and DTXs to all the uplink HARQ
Threshold feedback for downlink scheduling. If the proportion of
the sum of NACKs and DTXs to all the uplink HARQ
feedback of a UE is higher than this threshold, the
eNodeB stops scheduling the UE in a certain period. If
this parameter is set to 0, the eNodeB does not stop
scheduling UEs based on the proportion of the sum of
NACKs and DTXs to all the uplink HARQ feedback.
This parameter applies only to LTE TDD.

GUI Value Range: 0~100

Unit: %

Actual Value Range: 0~100

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: 50

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no

impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Radio Network Performance: If this

parameter is set to 0, network performance is not
affected. If this parameter is set to a large value, the cell
throughput increases by a small margin when strong
uplink interference occurs and air interface resources
are limited in heavy-load scenarios. If this parameter is
set to a small value other than 0, the cell throughput
increases by a large margin when strong uplink
interference occurs and air interface resources are
limited in heavy-load scenarios. In this case, UEs
suffering from strong uplink interference have to wait
longer for scheduling, and the perceived rate decreases.

Applicable Mode: L
SplitBeamPdcchSd PDCCH Split Meaning: Indicates whether to perform SDMA for
maSw Beam SDMA PDCCH transmission in beam splitting scenarios.
Switch MASSIVE_MIMO_PDCCH_SDMA_SW: If this
option is selected, SDMA is performed for PDCCH
transmission in beam splitting scenarios. If this option
is deselected, full joint transmission is always
performed for PDCCH transmission in beam splitting
scenarios. This option applies only to LTE TDD.

Impact on Radio Network Performance:

MASSIVE_MIMO_PDCCH_SDMA_SW:

If this option is selected, SDMA can be performed for

PDCCH transmission in scenarios of beam splitting for
massive MIMO, increasing PDCCH capacity. If this
option is deselected, SDMA is not performed for
PDCCH transmission in scenarios of beam splitting for
massive MIMO.

Applicable Mode: L
PdcchPwrCtrlUserN PDCCH Meaning: Indicates whether to perform PDCCH power
umThd Power Control optimization for heavy-load networks, and specifies the
User Num threshold of the number of UEs for triggering the
Threshold optimization. If this parameter is set to 65535, PDCCH
power optimization is disabled for heavy-load
networks. If this parameter is set to a value ranging
from 0 to 1050, PDCCH power optimization is enabled
for heavy-load networks, and the eNodeB uses this
threshold to determine whether to perform the
optimization. This parameter applies only to LTE TDD.

GUI Value Range: 0~1050,65535

Unit: None

Actual Value Range: 0~1050,65535

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: It is recommended that this

parameter be set to 280 for heavy-load massive MIMO
networks and to 150 for heavy-load non-massive
MIMO networks.
Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no

impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Radio Network Performance: A small value

of this parameter leads to strict PDCCH power control
for heavy-load networks and a high DTX proportion,
affecting user experience. A large value of this
parameter leads to loose PDCCH power control for
heavy-load networks and a low DTX proportion,
improving user experience. A too large value of this
parameter, however, leads to extremely loose PDCCH
power control for heavy-load networks and a limited
DTX proportion, affecting user experience. Set this
parameter based on the number of UEs used as the
criterion for heavy load.

Applicable Mode: L
PdcchBfGainOffset PDCCH Meaning: Indicates the PDCCH beamforming gain
Beamforming offset for DMIMO cells when the PDCCH aggregation
Gain Offset level is selected based on coverage. If this parameter is
set to -127, optimization of PDCCH beamforming gain
offset is disabled. If this parameter is set to a value
ranging from -10 to 10, optimization of PDCCH
beamforming gain offset is enabled, and the offset is
specified by this parameter. This parameter applies only
to LTE TDD.

GUI Value Range: -127,-10~10

Unit: None

Actual Value Range: -127,-10~10

MML Default Value: None

Recommended Value: 0

Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no

impact on the UE in idle mode)
Impact on Radio Network Performance: A large value
of this parameter leads to a high PDCCH aggregation
level in DMIMO scenarios and low DTX proportion,
but a high probability that uplink and downlink CCEs
are restricted and allocation of these CCEs fails. A
small value of this parameter leads to a low PDCCH
aggregation level in DMIMO scenarios and high DTX
proportion, but a low probability of failures of uplink
and downlink CCE allocation.

Applicable Mode: L
