Provided direct nursing care to a medically complex population on a 40-bed long-term acute care unit. Many
of these patients had acute and chronic disease processes including multiple system failure. A majority of
these patients also required supplemental oxygen and mechanical ventilation.
 Patient assessments
 Monitoring of vital signs, blood glucose, and oxygen levels
 Dispensing of medications
 Intravenous therapy
 Wound care and dressing changes
 Insertion of foley catheters and naso/orogastric tubes
