MOTION FOR EXTENSION OF TIME

TO SUBMIT COUNTER-AFFIDAVIT
___________________________________________________________________________

Respondent, unto this Honorable Office, most respectfully avers:

1. That up until 22 October 2018, I had the hopes of settling the

complaint filed against me amicably by offering what I perceive to be a

reasonable amount of support for my three (3)-year old daughter with the

Complainant;

2. That up until 22 October 2018, the Complainant was not

amenable in settling the case and accepting my offer;

3. That on the same date, I sought the assistance of a private lawyer

to assist me in the preparation of my counter-affidavit in view of the refusal

of the Complainant to accept my offer;

4. That due to other equally important deadlines, the lawyer advised

me that he needs at least ten (10) days within which to submit the counter-

affidavit, considering that I would have to give him my statements/defenses

as well as all the pieces of evidence and witnesses that would be vital to

solidify my defenses in counter-affidavit to be submitted;

5. That the undersigned respondent begs the kind indulgence of this

Honorable Office for an extension of ten (10) days from today or until 2

November 2018, within which to file my responsive pleading;

6. This motion is not intended to delay the proceedings of the

instant case nor to disregard the lawful order of the Honorable Office but

caused solely by the above-cited reason.

PRAYER

WHEREFORE, premises considered, it is most respectfully prayed of

this Honorable Office that the undersigned be given an extension of ten (10)

days from today or until 2 November 2018 within which to file my responsive

pleading, in the interest of substantial justice.

Other reliefs and remedies just and equitable under the premises are

likewise prayed for.
