Human Trafficking Around the World

Abstract

Human Trafficking is a very serious illegal business in our world and is unfortunately ending with a lot of

lives. People are sold, bought, sexual exploited, slaved, forced into labor, killed and organ extracted all

just for money. You will learn about the most common human trafficking and how traffickers hunt their

victims down until they catch them either non-violently or violently. There are many ways to prevent

being the next victim discussed lightly in this report.

In these days, human trafficking has become one of the biggest crime industries in the

world. Innocent People have been kidnapped to be sexually exploited, labor exploited, and even

killed to sell their organs. People tend to ignore this problem however it is a very delicate topic

since anyone can fall in hands of a trafficker in any moment. They are just waiting till they find

the perfect time and situation to capture you. Human Trafficking is coming out allot more often

and we should know exactly what it is, recognize all different types human trafficking, and

detect any signs of human trafficking activity to save yourself or others.

Human Trafficking is a general title to different crimes that involve forcing people to do

something against their will to earn money. Many times, victims are kidnapped and taken far

from their home to be exploited sexually, labor forced, or killed to obtain their organs. The most

common of these is forced labor which is also defined as involuntary servitude. This is a

modern-day type of slavery since victims are

forced to work against their will in a job that

has no pay or poor pay, excessively long

shifts, are constantly being beaten, not in

control of their live decisions, are

bought and sold, and many other restrains.

In the extreme cases victims are not payed

and are treated as slaves living in a place stuffed with other 20 victims where their food,

freedoms, and rest is rationalized. In the article, What is Modern Day Slavery? in the website,

Anti-Slavery International, they asserted, "Whether they are women forced into prostitution, men

forced to work in agriculture or construction, children in sweatshops or girls forced to marry

older men, their lives are controlled by their exploiters, they no longer have a free choice and

they have to do as they’re told. They are in slavery."(Anti-Slavery International, n. d.) It was

estimated by the International Labor Organization that there is 14.2 million people that are

victims of force labor in the world and the National Human Trafficking Hotline received more

than 5,400 reports here in the United States. (Polaris, Oct. 26, 2017)

Another brute branch in human trafficking is sexual trafficking. In this business

traffickers Kidnap people, specialy women and girls,

to submit them into sex trade, prostitution, and even

for their own pleasures. This in my opinion is also

slavery because these victims are forced to have sex

with other people to make money and are taken away

from their freedom. These girls end up

psychologically and physically damaged. In the

Polaris Project website, they have a section of

survivor stories and in one of them there is the story

of a young women named Natalie. She was being locked in a hotel, abused, being involuntarily

prostituted, and threatened to be killed if she tried to escape. After a lot of time being sexual

exploited, she built up strength to call National Human Trafficking Hotline. The organization

took action and she was saved. Even though all that nightmare was over she had to be treated to

cure her trauma. (Polaris, Survivor Stories, Dec. 10, 2015) These Traffickers don’t have a heart,

it is very common they kidnap little innocent girls too. The average age of girls entering

prostitution is from 12 to 14 however there has been cases of up to 9 years old girls. (Women’s

Funding Network, n. d.) Traffickers hunt their girls in two ways, violent or nonviolent ways. In

nonviolent they convince the victim to trust them by telling them good things, telling them they

love her, promising better future, and many other tactics to win their trust and later take them

away. The violent ways is simply taking them by brute force.

Another horrible branch of human trafficking is organ trafficking. Organ trafficking is

when they take out your organs to sell them without your consent. In many of these cases the

victim ends up killed since they get extracted every single organ from their body. Jut like other

crimes of human trafficking, the

traffickers take you against your will,

however they finish disappeared since

they are killed to obtain their organs and

sell them in a black market. Other times,

they may just take a kidney and sow you

up and throw you back were they got you from. Victims end up with huge scars or uncured

incisions if they actually survive. Anyone could be a target no matter your age. To cover the

organ demand we have in the world, the donations would have to increase ten times more than

what they are right now. This shows that donations clearly don’t cover the organ demand and

that is why they look for illegal ways to cover their necessities. According to the World Health

Organization, they estimated there are 100,000 organ transplants and up to10 percent of them are

performed illegally. (Listverse, October 19, 2017) This is every person regardless the age has to

be careful in the streets and never being alone and if you are, remember to be alert of your

surroundings.

Deeply analyzed human trafficking is an illegal business that has been growing and has

been evolving globally including in our home countries. We must be informed and precautious

of the situation and know how to identify any signs of human trafficking activity to protect

yourself and others. There are many types of human trafficking and the most common crimes are

sex trafficking, forced labor, and organ trafficking. All of these crimes are all linked to slavery

since victims are taken away from their normal lives involuntarily and from their natural rights.

It is important to have in mind that this nightmare is happening everywhere including here in the

United States and we have to know how to prevent being the next victims, detect the signs of

human trafficking to save your life and others, and be ready to report any suspicious activity.

With all this information we should know to report any suspicious activity to the National

Human Trafficking Hotline, to the police, or any other reliable hotline. Together we could

exterminate human trafficking or at least reduce the number of victims, however we need

everyone’s help and support by taking care of each other, and reporting anything that looks like

human trafficking. The world is falling apart with all this evil however we can all help fight

human trafficking by passing down the message so everyone is aware. Also report anything that

may look suspicious to save someone else's life, or preventing yours to fall in hands of a

trafficker.
