ONLINE EDUCATIONAL RESOURCE CO-DESIGNER, MID MICHIGAN COLLEGE
My job as an OER co-designer required me to read through the instructional text being used for
an online Introduction to Communication course at Mid Michigan College and edit the material
from a student’s perspective. I was tasked with highlighting the most important information in
each chapter, and rewriting portions of the text to make it less confusing and more relevant to
today’s students. I was also tasked with recording and conducting interviews of student’s who
had submitted work to the college’s Spring Student Showcase so online students would get a feel
for what the event was like.
