RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Give a brief description of the technology/resource.

Screencast-o-matic is a tool that allows the user to record what they are doing on their screen, on their device camera, or both, to
show what they are doing.

INTEGRATION/IMPLEMENTATION IDEA - SCREENCASTING

How might you use this resource to promote student learning? Describe who will be doing the screencasting – you or your
students, and what purpose it will serve.

This tool could be useful for teachers to use when showing students how to complete a task on the computer so the students
have unlimited access to the instructions rather than just listening to the teacher say it once. This could also be very useful if
students turn in an electronic assignment, they could also submit a screencast discussing different aspects of the assignment.

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION
 Given the information above, how would the technology integration you described, using the selected resource? (On the
“Value-Added Rating Scale” above)
 Explain your rating based on the indicators on the rubric.

Based on the indicator above I would give this tool a rating of 2. This tool doesn’t necessarily have the depth to be able to
transform a lesson but it does have the capability to help a lesson flow smoothly and also can be used directly for teacher and
students. There are very few limits with this tool because it can record anything on the computer screen or on the devices
camera.
